Mega Permata Hotel — Hotel in Padang Sidempuan

Rooms were clean and comfortable enough, which is good, but all windows look onto a central courtyard which is roofed over. So no natural light and lots of echoey noise.||||Staff were friendly and mostly tried hard, but very poorly trained. Many simply didn't seem to know how to do their jobs. We had an Indonesian in our party so language was not an issue for us, but we were still frustrated on several occasions by unnecessary screw-ups. On one occasion we left the 'do not disturb' sign on the door because we had personal effects we didn't want anyone touching, the hotel actually phoned us to confirm we didn't want the room making up, but when we returned later we found the staff in the room anyway.||||The food in the restaurant was very good, but service was excrutiatingly slow. On one occasion we had local guests and were the only guests in the restaurant. But, even with three or four staff on duty we had to go looking for a server every time we wanted anything. Another evening we came in for dinner to find the staff amusing themselves by singing karaoke, behaving like children.||||All of this is down to poor management and training. We were very disappointed.||||Also, there is a booking desk for the elephant sanctuary. One of the staff twice tried to overcharge us, different prices each time. We booked through the girl named Nisa, who was very helpful and straightforward....

Check in Process :||We check in at 1 AM, but already book by phone a day before. We book 3 bed rooms for 5 people and for 2 night. But, when we check in last night, there is no room booked for us. After some argumentation, they gave us rooms we need. |In the morning, they told us there is no room available for us anymore for tonight. And the funny thing is, we will held a meeting in this hotel. Very very unprofesional service when we ask who was accepting our booking few days ago. They said no one was accepting our call. They offer us to switch room. |However, they finally let us stay in the same room||Hotel location : |* |Very strategic, the only decent hotel in Padang Sidempuan city||Facility : | |Not expecting so much for this kind of hotel. Compare to other hotel in Padang Sidempuan; Mega Permata looks more modern, we can see from the completenes of operational staff (there are security guatds, concierge, receptionist indeed, HK, Loundry, waitres) but the service remain same with other hotel in Padang Sidempuan which has no complete operational staff, I and family routine every year (Idul Fithri) check in with prior reservation and stay 2 days at Mega Permata but their service never growth to be better, last experience today Wednesday May 04, 2022, I booked 6 rooms a week ago then 2 hour prior check in I informed them that I was shortly arrived then when I arrive around 04.15 pm the room not ready yet since some of supplies were not there such as Towel and Pillows meanwhile I and family terribly tired travelling whole day from.Medan to Padang...
