Bad experience stayed at this hotel, grand suite 301

We recently stayed at Grantage, booking a Grand Suite at 800k/night, with expectations based on the images displayed on Traveloka and the hotel's website (new room, white, bright, clean, and comfy).

Unfortunately, the room we were allocated differed significantly from those advertised. It was an older room, with a noticeable odor, visible dirt on the sofa, a considerable amount of dust throughout (suggesting a lack of thorough cleaning), and a flooded bathroom.

My husband brought these issues to the attention of the receptionist and the manager. We were offered another room, but it appeared to be of a similar standard to the initial one. We were informed that the rooms shown in the pictures were still under renovation, but there was no apology offered, and we are tired of complaining.

We were disappointed that the room provided did not match the images used for advertising on the website and Traveloka. We found the reception staff's approach to customer service to be lacking. While we understand the need to adhere to procedures, a more empathetic and proactive approach would have been appreciated. Specifically, when I requested sahoor delivery due to having children, I was initially told it was not possible and that I would need to come to the restaurant. After explaining my situation, I was told the receptionist would try to inform the restaurant, but I would also need to call them at 3:30 am. This seemed unnecessary, as I had made the request the previous day with him as the receptionist. In contrast, the restaurant staff member I spoke with was incredibly helpful, taking detailed notes and ensuring my request would be fulfilled. This discrepancy highlighted a potential area for improvement in reception's handling of guest requests, kindly learn more about hospitality. During a previous visit in 2023, we were also told the rooms were under renovation. It is concerning that the renovations appear to be taking an extended period of YEARS.

While we appreciate the efforts of the restaurant staff, our overall experience did not meet the expectations set by the advertised room and the price paid, NOT WORTH AT ALL. We hope this feedback will be taken constructively and that improvements will be made to ensure future guests have a more positive experience. Warning: Avoid This Hotel at All Costs!||||Staying here was an incredibly disappointing and uncomfortable experience from start to finish. I never felt safe in my own room. There was a locked door connecting my room to the next, but this offered no sense of privacy or security, as I could hear everything happening next door. All night, the lights in the adjacent room kept turning on and off, making it impossible to sleep. To make matters worse, the air conditioning unit was unbearably loud and did nothing to improve the atmosphere. I was awake most of the night because of constant noise, chatter, and laughter from other guests.||||Cleanliness was absolutely unacceptable – my room was filthy, with hair from previous guests all over the floor and stains on the pillows. The state of the shower was disgusting, with visible limescale buildup covering the shower head. The photos I took barely do justice to how unhygienic the space was.||||Communication with the hotel was shockingly poor. Despite using the WhatsApp feature on the website to arrange an airport shuttle, I received no response for several days – only to discover that the shuttle doesn’t actually exist. When I tried to reach the property by phone, it took three calls throughout the day before someone finally answered, and the staff member I spoke to had extremely limited English.||||Basic amenities were totally lacking. There was no power outlet near the bed, and the key card I was given didn’t even work on the door.||||Overall, this was one of the worst accommodation experiences I’ve ever had.
