RedDoorz near Museum Gunung Merapi — Hotel in Pakem

This is the Palma Inn at Pakem, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. It actually offers a quiet rural atmosphere, with good AC, good free WiFi and stable hot water. Inexpensive. The TV reception is limited. Rather too small but clean rooms with double bed and limited facilities. However, I can't recommend it because it gave me and my wife a horrible experience when we stayed here yesterday, for the first time my whole life: we had a power blackout (during a heavy rain with lightning and thunder) only two hours after we checked in, and they didn't have an emergency genset, so it was dark, with no lighting, no hot water, no TV, no free Wifi, so we decided to check out early in frustration. And to add to our misery, as we were about to leave we saw the owner bringing a dog to the inn, and the staff playing with it! Obviously they don't understand the label "Pets are not allowed" attached online to the inn, or do they intentionally...

A wonderful though small hotel amid the quiet villages in Merapi. My friend and I stayed 2 nights in Nov 2019. Very reasonable room rates, the room and the hotel areas are kept clean and well maintained. The surrounding garden and porch are nicely decorated and planted with beautiful flowers as well as orchids. It was particularly peaceful, calm and soothing on a cool morning when it drizzled. The staff are very friendly, helpful and attended to our every needs. We got to have biscuits, snacks and fruits for our coffee breaks too, thank you. Will surely book to stay at RedDoorz Merapi again if when we visit...

A small hotel in a quiet area in a village near Mount Merapi. A nice place for resting after a tiring day. The reception lady was very nice, making the check-in process smooth. They also offered some foods to buy, which I ordered on the evening after checking in. It was a delicious homemade nasi goreng with mendoan. Since it is located in the quiet corner of the village, it was difficult to find restaurants in the area, so if you are too tired for going outside to eat, ordering their foods is recommended. There is also a small parking area for cars...
