In the past 3 months I stayed 2x in this hotel. Beginning of July for 14 days and end of August for 16 days. The price was fair at first for Palembang, second time 2.5x the price most likely due to the Asian games - which I found excessive.
During my first stay it could be felt that the hotel works 2-3 months only. The staff was attentive and smiling but the shower wasn't working great, water was running through the cable fitting. During the day, you had to wait for the elevator 5-10 minutes sometimes as it was stopping on each floor and the 4 elevators were not in sync. 2 on both sides with different buttons, so often happened that 2 of them stopped at the same floor at the same time. If I wanted to have lunch or dinner at the restaurant or ordering room service, I had to pay every time after every occasion with cash or card. Same for the bar or laundry services, which is quite unusual for all services being at the same hotel. Only 2 days before I left I got told that a certain amount can be set aside from my card, so I don't have to pay on every single occasion. Why I couldn't have been told about this at check-in when I paid for my stay?
During my second stay, the reception was much more efficient about the above mentioned. I could use the option to block any amount on the card for purchases and services. The elevators were also in sync and even with a fully booked hotel I could get up and down much quicker. Room was fine as well, no issues with the shower and good housekeeping. Maybe a little noise from other rooms, but nothing too concerning. Breakfast was fine, but if you go later you could miss out on nicer options and I didn't see them filling up on these selections anymore. I used the laundry services many times, but it turned out a horrible experience 2 days before I left. I left 20 items for the laundry but only received 19 back and of course my pricey white Gant shirt was the one missing. If it's a sock, gym shirt or something like that, I wouldn't care much, wouldn't even complain. But this is a 200 dollar shirt we're talking about and I just couldn't let it go. Early morning I flagged this at the reception, but I did not have much time as I had a flight to catch to Jakarta and back to the hotel in the evening. I asked again, but the reception seemingly was not aware of the issue. Next morning I raised it again, but all they could say is that they are checking it. Afternoon no news and at the evening I was getting more and more frustrated as this was my last day at the hotel and had an early flight to catch the next day. Same again, after a while they were showing me a receipt with 6 items, where my shirt was not even on it. I have no idea where they took this from. Fortunately I still had the packaging where I had my 20 (19) items. I even took a picture for them to show the 20 items listed there. Only after this when they finally realized it and started to really look into it with the help of Mrs Henny, receptionist or manager. She then found the correct receipt of my 20 items listed there and promised me she'll contact the laundry service (as they are done outside of the hotel). She told me she would contact me straight away if they found it or about a possible compensation as I was spending 2 more days in Jakarta. Unfortunately she never came back to me within these 2 days, only after I whatsapped her asking about the issue again. To add to the story, on the 5th of September, 5 days after I left I received an email from the front office that I received my 20 items on the 29th of August and then the 31st as well. Also that they will keep looking for my lost (stolen?) shirt and they would let me know as soon as they have any news. Since then, no news, no contact whatsoever. Long story short, I will never step foot in this hotel. They don't take responsibility for their own faults and mistakes. For this reason, I would never recommend to anyone to stay...
Read moreFor it's price, literally worth it to stay here. However, I do have some input for the hotel as follows: Since I'm from Jakarta and unfamiliar with Palembang city, we used Google Maps, however the direction was confusing and directed us through back alley way, not through the main road.. I suggest you to revise/rearrange gmaps orientation cause I'm sure many travellers were like me The lift algorithm was bothering me. Almost every time, we had to wait 5-15 min just to ride the lift, and it's frustrating to see that happens because only 2 out of 4 lifts operating.. Even when all 4 operating, it really slow response in taking sudden order.. No social distancing implemented in the roof top pool, and I had to take measure by myself and asking my children not to enter the pool The wall was so thin, and I had to ask a reception/security once at night due to some visitor were still running and screaming and laughing at the alley while we tried to sleep. The hotel did some good job there, however I suggest, during check in process, please remind the hotel visitor that there is a basic courtesy of staying at hotel such as not screaming or running or laughing out loud..
Thank you. Hope you...
Read moreI think with confidence I can say that this hotel might be offering you the best pool view in all hotels in Palembang. 25th floor and facing towards three bridges across Musi River, especially the iconic Ampera Bridge. Closely located next to Transmart, so you can go there to buy some groceries which are overly priced in the minibar options. If you feel like having Palembang's delicacies such as Pempek, this hotel is also next to one of the legendary and iconic brand of Palembang's Pempek, which is Pempek Pak Raden. But if you crave for a cheaper version of Pempek with decent flavor, just across the Transmart, you can find several options of Pempek, starting from IDR 1,000,-
The thing about this hotel which I hate the most are two things, I stayed at room 2309. The Room was a bit small for a 4-stars Hotel, in my opinion and the second was about the water heater. The first night, I took a bath in cold showers because I don't know what happened, but the water is not even close to warm.
So in the end, it's depend on what you're looking for in a hotel. This...
