Disappointing Experience at Green Village Bali – An Easy Skip

We had high expectations for Green Village Bali, given its focus on sustainability and eco-tourism, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short. From the very start, the visit felt disorganized and unwelcoming.

When we arrived, the reception informed us that the tour would start in 10 minutes. However, the guide, Kutu, repeatedly told us we were late, creating unnecessary tension right at the beginning. To add to the frustration, the ticket counter overcharged us—charging adult prices even for children—despite no clear explanation or apology.

The tour itself was extremely underwhelming. Kutu barely offered any insights, instead taking us to one bamboo house and telling us to explore it on our own. When we asked him for more details, his response was dismissive, saying we could leave if we didn’t like it. This level of arrogance and disinterest was shocking, especially at a place that promotes itself as a hub for eco-conscious travelers.

To make matters worse, as we were leaving, it started raining. We were holding their umbrellas, but Kutu rudely insisted we couldn’t use them since we weren’t continuing the tour. We were left walking in the rain, completely let down by the lack of basic hospitality.

It’s clear that there’s a major communication gap between the front desk and the guides. The staff seemed disengaged, and the entire experience felt poorly managed. Places like this are built by people passionate about sustainability, and visitors who come here share that passion. But an experience like this tarnishes the reputation of the place entirely.

Honestly, there’s not much to see here beyond a few bamboo structures, and with the level of disorganization and rudeness we faced, it’s hard to justify the visit. Green Village Bali feels like a missed opportunity—what could have been an inspiring experience turned into one we couldn’t wait to end.

Verdict: Skip this one. There are far better ways to experience...

The only way to describe the green village is a heavenly Xanadu and Home in the Balinese jungle -and this, is an understatement.

In celebration of my 40th birthday, I booked this trip with my two children – 19 and 13 years of age. Since its inception, the staff was incredibly accommodating in helping to plan – for their incredible attentiveness for across all of our email exchanges leading up to the trip: shout out to Caesar/green village staff member and Wayan/Airbnb host of the aura house!

Green village and the Aura house were impeccable: serenity, safety, cleanliness, comfort, and essentially – the personification of God's beautiful earth. We felt blessed in each and every moment to moment – From refreshing dips in our treehouse pool to massages in our open air balcony (with Anise and 2 others in her crew of literally hands off peace). There were truly two heartbeats to our trip that brought our daily bliss to life: Kadek/Green village Chef and Pak/personal driver. I could feel the warmth of my recently past grandmother in the love that Miss Kadek poured out into her food and vibe with myself and my children! Both of them spoke of how good her hugs felt and enjoyed learning Balinese cooking with her – which we enjoyed in the comfort of our jungle home. Mr. Pak was the irreplaceable, incredible, all – knowing compass to our journeys each day that enabled us to understand and experience the beautiful Balinese culture.

We are leaving green village with our hearts so full and grateful. Suksma to our dear dear friends- we will not forget you and hope to return… You will live in our...

The most overestimated place in Bali. The management is absolutely weak and need to be changed. All the staff beginning from the general manager are not professional. We couldn’t book it via Airbnb and came to do it personally and it spent very long time for what can be easily done within 15 minutes. We bring our food with us - lobster and crabs with caviar and the stuff in the kitchen was so unprofessional that they spoiled all the food - it took 2,5 hours to cook all the meal (in Jimbaran seafood market it takes 20 minutes to prepare lobster and crabs), they boiled the crabs 1 hours, so that the meat becomes tasteless, they throw the caviar, the lobster also was dry - even the glasses for our wine we were waiting almost 30 minutes. Everything is very long, unprofessional and doesn’t cost this price AT ALL. And when we told the manager all the complaints he didn’t even apologise. The villa was full of holes where the snake can come in the night. The complimentary free breakfast was awful too. Better they take money for it and make it properly. No juice, no coffee, the omelette is not tasty at all and the drink was totally disgusting we didn’t even understand what was that 🤢 Totally NOT...
