Nestled in the heart of Ubud, Hoshinoya Bali beckons as a haven of tranquility and cultural immersion. Luxury hotels that have successfully branded themselves as destinations are few and far between, and "Hoshinoya," under the Hoshino Resorts Group, is undoubtedly one of them. Renowned for its premier Japanese resort experiences, Hoshinoya is not only expensive but also features limited room numbers, making reservations quite challenging. It stands on par with industry giants like Aman, and for every hotel enthusiast, each Hoshinoya is a must-visit on their lifetime list.||The presence of Hoshinoya can be found across Japan's scenic landscapes, from the serene Karuizawa to the ancient Kyoto, from the majestic foot of Mount Fuji to the bustling heart of Tokyo, and even to the tranquil Guan and the sunny Okinawa. Each location carries its own culture and story. With the opening of Hoshinoya Tokyo, the brand has finally stepped beyond Japan, choosing Bali as the site for its first international debut. "Hoshinoya Bali" presents yet another perfect blend of local charm and Japanese aesthetics.||Globally, Hoshinoya has opened eight branches. Although the number remains small for an international chain hotel, each is a masterpiece in its own right, characterized by unique features. These hotels coexist harmoniously with their surrounding terrain and cultural ambiance, showcasing the rich brand image of Hoshinoya through distinctive Japanese design concepts.||Notably, the logo of each Hoshinoya hotel varies slightly, which is rare among chain brands. However, this place-specific design approach makes sense under the philosophy of "coexistence with nature." For instance, Hoshinoya Bali is situated by the sacred river, where ancient souls rest, and the lotus in its logo symbolizes the 'Island of Water.' The village meticulously crafted between tropical rainforests and temples exudes a profound Zen atmosphere.||Hoshinoya always gives the impression of 'less is more,' encouraging guests to slow down and immerse themselves in nature by minimizing electronic elements in the rooms. The absence of a gym is a deliberate choice to encourage guests to rejuvenate in the natural environment. Moreover, the East Asian cuisine provided by Hoshinoya offers a taste of home in the culinary desert of Bali, leaving guests feeling that even after a two or three-night stay, there is still much more to experience.||Just as the beauty of life lies in retrospection and the allure of movies in their subtlety, the appeal of a hotel is in the deep experiences it provides to travelers. Hoshinoya is such a memorable brand, with both design and service that are thought-provoking, easily prompting a desire for return visits. This year marks the 110th anniversary of the founding of Hoshino Resorts. If one has the chance to visit Japan and experience the authentic Hoshinoya, it will surely be a journey of...

Good and nice hotel. However, are there any resort in Bali not be described by this two super generic words? Hoshinoya has all the good things a resort supposed to have: warm smile, super service attitude, good food and nice villa. If I am paying for a lesser hotel chain I would be chilled, but for a $500+/night hotel I think it is fair to expect more. The resort is a bit “homemade” and as someone who profession is closely related to cost control I couldn’t help but to think….”what a good business!”. The location is, no offense, in the middle of nowhere (which is true that it offer some peace of mind) that I wonder how much they rent/buy from the local government. The only road to the hotel is badly managed. The site of the resort is really small and limited compare to most of the resort I stayed. Security could be a concern for some people. You cannot actually lock the main entrance of your villa, and the shared swimming pool could be accessed by other guests. Of course there is good things about the hotel. First the food is good. Japanese sashimi is recommended as they are in good quality. They also offer sufftles bus to the town center of nearby small town (Ubud) where you can do some sightseeing (not easy for smaller kids but there is supermarket and other place for dinning). Special credit to the driver who manage to solve a little problem by his smart. The “birdcage” there are quite interesting to seat in and enjoy the view of the forest. Just don’t expect that is a primitive jungle. I would still recommend this place if they are not as expensive. For me they are a bit overpriced. For same money you can have more option in Bali and anywhere else in the world.

Thank you all for the incredible service, delectable dishes and enjoyable experiences provided during our stay. The resort is absolutely beautiful, we got our family photoshoot here at 630am and the photos are stunning. Food was incredible, especially the 10-course menu which was amazing. I especially love the slowly cooked salmon which was divine, and the yellowfin tuna and sashimi which were really fresh. We also enjoyed the HOSHINOYA Jewel Box - a generous serving of fresh sashimi. Highly recommending the food here if you love Japanese food. Even their Indonesian food was pretty delicious too! Breakfast in the Air Gazebo was a lovely experience as well, and we also enjoyed the batik painting taught by Mandi - that was one of our most fun experiences in our entire Bali trip. The spa was an experience in itself, sitting that unique elevator was really cool and interesting. Definitely got many of my friends curious and interested! Will definitely be keen on visiting the other Hoshinoya resorts in Japan and Taichung, since this was all sorts of amazing.
