House of hobbit — Hotel in Pulau Bali

We have been staying in Bali for 2 weeks and havent written a review for any other accommodation. This is a warning to anyone looking to book here. My partner and I were lied to about a trip we booked and SCAMMED out of $30. We booked to visit menjangan island and snorkelling. We were promised a 4 hour trip to visit the island temples and see deers. It became apparent that we were scammed as the other group on our boat did not pay for the same package, only snorkeling. Previous research told us that the cost of visiting the island was 250,000idr per person entrance fee. We paid 1,000,000 in total for the trip for 2 people. The trip was cut short and we were back within 2.5 hours only snorkelling in 2 spots. After returning to hobbits homestay a group of men were waiting for us to discuss the fact we raised we didnt visit the island and wanted a refund for that part of the deal. One man posed as the manager and provided many lies about why we would not be allowed our money back. The woman on the front desk who we booked it through was there watching and did not intervene. It is clear that this is a SCAM that must happen regularly. DO NOT come here in low season. The other reviews on various sites mention a lot the good attentive and English speaking staff - they ALL get replaced with very young trainees who 1) barely speak English 2) don't maintain the place AT ALL and 3) run the place like headless chickens. We got a bamboo house suite, Aragorn: broken TV, lots of dust, animal droppings, stains everywhere, low water flow, slow drain, broken bathroom door&door lock.. After one night we got a replacement (Frodo, cute room!): also dusty, broken safe, dirty, no hot water, slow drain... And the food, oh my god. the food. We had to eat there twice (no car). Both times we got cold, barely edible food very visibly delivered from a nearby warung (their kitchen was closed. Me and my girlfriend been there for two weeks in September 2023. The place is quite and really unique, the mood is like the old Bali of the 70s. Great people really. We did snorkeling in Menjangan island,we visited the Natural Park only there you can find black long tail monkey,we'd seen the barking deer also,very unique and rare to see in nature. Thanks to the Manager mr. Gede we'd been to a truly village Kris ceremony (don't be scary if you ear loud speakers at 4 am ahahah).
