We stayed here for three nights in June as a honeymoon couple, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Located about 30 minutes from Lovina Beach, the property is nestled in the hills, surrounded by lush jungle, rice fields, and mountain views. This is not just a place to stay — it’s a sanctuary for the mind, body, and soul.
Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated. Since we were celebrating our honeymoon, the staff had prepared special touches and surprises for us, which we deeply appreciated. The large terrace, open-air bathroom, and bathtub made it feel both luxurious and peaceful.
One of the most special parts of our stay was the daily 9:00 AM meditation sessions led by Indra. Her calming energy, combined with gentle yoga, breathwork, Tibetan singing bowls, and sacred rituals, created a deep inner peace. We also joined her Hatha Yoga class, which was taught with genuine care and international-level professionalism. She even taught us how to make traditional Balinese flower offerings — a cultural highlight we’ll never forget.
Desya, a young intern at the property, was incredibly kind, cheerful, and helpful. He took the time to connect with us beyond just hospitality. In fact, every member of the staff was warm, respectful, and attentive. We felt truly at home thanks to their kindness.
The restaurant is located at the very top of the resort with a breathtaking view and an infinity pool. Breakfast was one of the best we had in all of Indonesia — rich, fresh, and full of variety. Lunch and dinner menus were also diverse and delicious. Prices were fair overall for a property of this standard, though wine was significantly more expensive than at similar hotels.
The spa was also a lovely experience. We enjoyed both reflexology and a full-body massage, both of which were excellent. However, the atmosphere could be improved — softer background music, incense, or essential oils would enhance the relaxation experience. Considering the prices (the highest we encountered in Bali), we expected a more refined spa ambiance, though the massage itself was wonderful.
The hotel does offer airport and local transfer services, but they are quite pricey. Also, there’s no scooter rental available on-site, which could be a small inconvenience for those who want to explore the area more freely.
Overall, this is the perfect destination for anyone looking to reconnect with themselves, slow down, and embrace nature in a meaningful way. We left feeling restored, inspired, and grateful. Highly...

The food is outstanding, but what stands out mostly is the way that it is cooked with passion and opens up all your senses. Along with the chefs, the waitstaff take pride in presenting the food and beverages to you at the table. The spa treatments are soothing, you can choose to have indoor or outdoor treatments. The sound of the waterfall takes you into deep relaxation mode and feeling of calmness. What will stay with us forever will be the kind nature of the Balinese staff. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly attentive, greeting us warmly and always checking in on our well-being throughout our stay. Their hospitality truly made us feel valued and cared for.
The staff's recommendations for activities were spot on, providing us with great insights into how to make the most of our time there.
The dining experience was fantastic, with delicious food served at both restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the vegan restaurant, which showcased a wonderful selection of dishes. Additionally, Maha Hills is the only place I found around that serves proper espresso coffee—definitely a highlight for any coffee lover!
The rooms are beautifully designed, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, rice fields, and even the ocean in the background. It's a picturesque setting that adds to the overall experience.
However, it's worth noting that the resort does have a lot of steps, which might make it less suitable for guests with mobility issues.
Overall, our stay at Maha Hills Resort was delightful, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene getaway with excellent service, beautiful scenery,...
