If you ever wonder what it feels like to have the entire mountain to yourself while being pampered in a 5-star resort experience then you haven't stayed at Puri Kasih Gottlieb. This is one of a kind, a true gem, built on the cliff over a raging river down below overlooking a majestic view of the mountainous forest with virtually zero traffic and no wandering tourist. Calling this a villa is an understatement, because what you get is more of a full resort experience with professionalism that is above and beyond, even in Bali standard. The limited number of rooms pretty much guarantee you wouldn't be bothered by overcrowding and if you're lucky you may even get the whole place to yourself.||The rooms are well-appointed with high quality linens and decors. The bathrooms are fully equipped with everything just in case you happen to travel without your own toiletries. There are no mosquitos at this altitude of the mountain so feel free to turn off the A/C should you prefer to enjoy the mountain air instead.||Be sure to enjoy a hearty breakfast cooked to order daily along with a glass of freshly squeezed juice of your choice and assortment of seasonal fresh fruit beautifully plated as a feast for your eyes as well. The kitchen also offers a full menu suited for lunch, dinner and all day snacking so you won't have to worry about going out of the way of the property to find anything else since this location is quite remote. The food is excellent and I have not found anything we didn't like and the prices are more than reasonable.||You can also schedule a yoga or massage session at the courtyard down below the pool where there is an open space and a little cabana with two massage beds. You'll be pampered for hours while listening to the wilderness and the soothing sound of the raging river down below. After a massage session don't forget to jump into the jacuzzi to relax your muscles even further.||It's incredible how this location even exists in the middle of the jungle, this is as close as you can get to nature while living luxuriously. I came here in search of peace and quite to be able to focus on writing my novel but instead I was surrounded by extremely loud and disturbibg sounds of local chickens, pigs and cows and corresponding odor resulting from them being stuck in the middle of this jungle. Hotel staff doesn't speak English well, which doesn't provide a good enough service despite the high price they charge. Their food selection is extremely low on vegan and vegetarian options, nor were they accommodation to change their menu although I and my rescue kitty were the only guests while stayng there. Besides, hotel management pushed me to go and explore yhe surrounding area where I discovered some four kittens in a terrible condition, with signs of conjectivitus, whom I ordered to be rushed to the local shelter provider/ vet clinic immediately and helped pay for such entire rescue operation. The hotel ownership wasn't helpful at all, they didn't solicit humanely participation nor offered to reimburse my disturbed peace and attentive eye and ear to their surrounding community needs. Little need to say, I will never come to such honestly terrible place ever again. This is a mentally ill institution of people being stuck in Medieval times. This definitely is a hidden gem in the woods near Ubud... and at the same time a little piece of heaven on earth!||The villa is rather secluded in the woods of Ubud which allows you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful surroundings nature has to offer. Go for a bike ride or take a walk along and through the rice fields and be charmed by the kind and warm nature of the locals. Soak up some culture in Ubud, you can be there in no time by moped, taxi or car (with private driver) for only a few € or $. Or just stay at the property to relax and enjoy the pool, jacuzzi or an outdoor Balinese massage. You don't even have to go out to eat as the villa has an excellent kitchen that serves both local and western dishes. We can highly recommend the banana crêpes and pisang goreng! ;-)||The rooms are spacious, spotless and decorated with love to instantly make you feel at home.||Last but certainly not least: staff is most friendly and helpful... always with a smile :-)||You don't have to take our word for it but just go and experience it yourself...
