UBUD VALLEY BOUTIQUE RESORT — Hotel in Pulau Bali

We stayed at the Ubud Valley Boutique hotel in Aug 2019 my partner I for 5 nights. I can honestly say we were so pleasantly surprised at how amazing it was!! The only 1 negative I have is that the official photos on their website do not do it justice at all :D It is immaculately clean, very authentic & the gardens were maintained daily so it looked perfect day in day out. The food was fantastic not to mention how really well priced it was. You could tell all the fruit and vegetables used were so fresh. The cocktails that they made were so pure and original. The private rooms were more like individual villas as they were all in detached buildings which were gorgeous. The small touches down to the robes they leave in your room are so authentic and traditional. The staff from the front of house, waiters and waitresses, landscapers, housekeeping etc were all so professional, accommodating and constantly had a smile on their faces. Their English was very impressive from all of them. When we asked about local tour guides, the recommendations that the front of house gave us we were very happy with. We went to see local waterfalls and rice fields that are musts in Ubud. The tour guide they recommended was a lovely, very helpful and humble guy. We also had a couples massage on site which again was incredible. So relaxing from the music, the smell, the atmosphere in their etc. My partner even fell asleep during the massage it was that relaxing. Every day they offered a free afternoon tea in the hotel which was incredible. So much variety and nice to try some of the local delicacies that you could tell had all been freshly handmade that day. The free morning Yoga was also fantastic. We also got engaged whilst we were staying at the Ubud Valley Boutique hotel which was the highlight of the stay (for obvious reasons) however the part the hotel had to play was honestly incredible! My partner was so impressed how it all went to plan so smoothly! … he had contacted the hotel via email from the UK before our arrival discussing the private dining romantic experience he wanted to do. I was obviously oblivious, but the staff did a fantastic job on our arrival at the hotel of always speaking to my partner in private and remaining professional without me having a clue. They even set up the candle lit dinner with so much precision I don’t think photos could do it justice. They prepared a set menu for the 3 course meal and my partner knows I am a fussy eater so he requested if we could both have different meals and they were so accommodating in picking every ingredient that I like, right down to the cocktails. They also went out of their way (by my partners request) to get my favourite flowers for the table (lilies) at short notice. It was honestly so magical, personal and the view for the proposal was brilliant. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of popping the question. I will attach my photos for you to see. Finally, the best thing we found was that the staff were so professional and “un-pushy” that it made us warm to them even more. They were so respectful and did not expect tips at all! When we departed the hotel we tipped the staff because we wanted to and were so impressed with the hospitality shown… we’ve never seen such a more grateful group of people for a tip that they did not expect. Very humble people.

I would 100% return to this hotel given the chance! I think it is perfect for couples wanting a relaxing, chilled, romantic and traditional...

We had an amazing opportunity to refresh and rebalance at the Ubud Valley Boutique Resort, my only wish is if I and my wife could have stayed longer than 2 nights to really sink in all that it had to offer. The resort is fairly new and a little away from the center of Ubud and only a year old under new management. It is definitely a romantic hideaway for those couples looking to rekindle relationships with breathtaking views. The staff and service was wonderful, they were very responsive right from the moment I made a reservation online.

It so happened that our flight got delayed and we landed around 1 in the morning and despite the late hours we were welcomed and checked in quickly into the Deluxe villa which was just perfect and right in front of the infinity pool which had the full vista of the Forest Valley. The villa coupled with the spa package was an excellent deal. The Balinese massage at the end of each day was the perfect way to unwind as we went about exploring all that Ubud had to offer but I guess the overall ambience and facilities at the spa needs improvement. Since the hotel is a little away from the centre, my suggestion is to have your itinerary of activities well planned. The hotel has partnerships with different tour activities in the area which you can take advantage of.

With the natural surroundings it made this an experience of a lifetime. The décor in our room was incredible with beautiful wood carvings and complete amenities. We even had a nice patio to have breakfast in the morning. It was our first time experiencing a semi-open toilet and it was fun to have a shower/bath in the open air. I happened to also mention that it was our wedding Anniversary when booking and the staff took the extra effort to decorate the room and bath with lovely flowers.

Only recommendation is to improve the restaurant offerings and offer other activities apart from just cycling tour. Anyway to conclude this is a great resort which I would be happy to return. It’s in a lovely area away from the hustle and bustle and has plenty for a luxurious and...
