What amazing experience we had at Delvin Homestay.
I have organised a diving trip for a group of 25 divers and we stayed there for 3 weeks. Danny and his family were very helpful, polite and friendly. Everything was really amazing. Overwater bungalows were super nice, the same as bungalows on the beach. Food was super delicious and there was a lot of food. For a few days we also took some fish and prepared it in our European way. We grilled it and also made hundreds of sushi ;) I was also a guest of other homestays around and I talked with other guests who did island hopping to different homestays and everybody agreed that food at Delvin was The Best in the region ! Thank you Big Mama and all womens from the family for the delicious food they prepared for 25 people for 21 days. There was a really big variety of food every day. From fish and rice in different recipes to the noodles and chicken and pork, there are also many different kinds of desserts and sweets and fruits as well. Place is very safe and I would say it is a very good spot on the island. There are no mosquitoes there. House reef is amazing for snorkeling and swimming. Every day we enjoy watching baby black tip sharks and also Walking Sharks just from our rooms or jetty. Sunset from our rooms or jetty was mind blowing.
We did around 40 dives per diver in three weeks and diving was amazing as usual at Raja Ampat. Coral reefs of Raja Ampat never stop to amaze us. Danny is a super experienced dive guide together with other local dive guides Karlo and Spaniel. How they find pygmy seahorses I don't know but almost at every dive we find a lot of them. From my 20 years diving experience I can say that during diving with Danny I feel safest ever anywhere in the world.
We also did a few whole day trips to Fam Island and The Passage and Kabuy bay and that trips was an experience to remember for a lifetime.
I would like to say that I am very satisfied with Danny and the whole family because it is not easy to provide full logistic support for that big group of divers for three weeks at a remote location like this. If there was something to adjust or prepare for our needs they happily accepted our requests and it was no problem for them to build extra bungalows, beds or toilets.....
It was not an easy task to please 25 divers for 21 days but Danny and his family did it. All of us are really happy with every aspect of our stay for this long period. For sure we will be back with another big group of divers and continue exploring Raja Amapt wonders with Danny and his family.
Terima Kasih, dear Danny and the whole family, you made our stay at Delvin really stunning, we love...

Read moreWe stayed there with the family for 9 days, from February 1st to February 10th, 2024. At first, life seemed quite wild. The bungalows located by the sea are cooler than those on land - the wind cools them. Freshwater is only for drinking, and electricity is available from evening until morning. There are three meals a day. Lunches and dinners are very tasty. The climate is very humid, and it would be good to have soap or some other detergent for laundry. It is possible to order laundry service on-site, but drying clothes in the humid climate is difficult if the sun is not shining. Items that are brought along quickly become damp due to moisture and can mold if not dried in the sun since air conditioning is not available. We didn't encounter any rats. The weather is very good. Occasionally, there may be brief rain showers, but usually, they don't last long, and soon the sun shines again. I recommend taking a walk to the viewpoint - it's very beautiful. The availability of diving equipment on-site is limited. I couldn't find a suitable-sized BCD, so I stuck to snorkeling. Snorkelers can join some diving trips for a moderate fee. There is a beautiful and long coral reef right by the beach, with many different corals and fish. Snorkeling reveals various corals, unicorn fish, clownfish, sharks, and turtles. I had to fight a triggerfish once, but most of them were calm and didn't attack snorkelers. I also saw manta rays while snorkeling, from a distance of about a couple of meters, close enough to feel a slight fear. Actually, I saw quite a lot while snorkeling, and I didn't miss diving much. Since more serious fish are seen more often during currents, beginner divers may have problems diving during currents. The family hosting us is very kind and cheerful. The local guide is competent and can definitely guide enthusiasts. The nearest first aid point is located on Waisai Island. Local pharmacies there may not be well-equipped. First aid supplies (bandages, antiseptics, necessary medications) should be brought along. Telkomsel internet card worked on-site, but the coverage was sometimes quite poor. Being on Kri Island, you will realize within a couple of days what is truly necessary for life and what is not - I recommend all snorkeling and diving enthusiasts to visit this place. You will also meet other nice people from different nationalities, with whom it's pleasant to share experiences around the dinner table and participate in various trips together. My regards and warm greetings to Dany and his...
