Alhamdulillah.Super satisfaction. We traveled on first weekend of January 2023. We was 5 persons joining open trip by Nikki Peucang. At that day, we was not found other person joined open trip, So we went to the Island with boat that feel like our private boat..with best service crew . The Boat is super comfy. The boat provide 3 bench to Enjoy the scenery. You also can step to rooftop of boat to enjoy the scenery. They serve bed with white sheet and pillow. But we prefer to sit on the bench, You dont want to loose enjoying every piaces of super scenery with coffee and tea that they provide. On arrival, because it is our first time visiting the Island, we was welcomed with beautiful white sand beach with deers and monkeys, what a nature environment! Fyi that monkey are not take your stuff, just if you bring food, they will try to take it, so..they are not commercial monkey anyway, just be ware of your food. We stay in Nikki Bamboo Villa. If you look the picture of the Villa, it seems that there is no window, but the villa's ventilation system allows you to see scenery outside the Villa, what a smart design. They equipped Villa with IKEA appliance. And again... we have body guard that standby outside the Villa....Yess..Monkey.and if you lucky deer sometimes visiting your Villa. You also have to prepare to live together with small bugs that lives in forest.if you love feeding animal, dont forget to bring carrot. Our villa has two rest rooms. It is clean and semi outdoor but its not so scarry look when you use it at night. sometimes branches and leaves fall in. Yeah..your Villa in the middle of forest
The beautiful crystal water and white sand beach is just infront of your Villa with mountains in front of them. In the morning you can fishing while enjoying the misty mountains and a cup of coffee on Nikki boat. They have fishing equipment on their boat. You can borrow it.
Meals: on reservation, you will be asked for the menu. You will get 2x lunch, dinner, breakfast and afternoon snack(we got crunchy banana fried serve with srikaya jam) and coconut after kiara and savana tracking. They serve complete meals as we requested, rice, fish, squid, vegetable, fruit, chicken in large quantities. We cant eat it up all the food. It is too many and all yummy.

Read moreGiven Cox and Kings exaggerated claims for the last hotel we had stayed at in Indonesia, their description of the Peucang Island Eco Resort as ' basic and clean' could have been a very very bad omen. And if you accept no hot water, no electricity during the day and no working toilet as basic then... it's basic. But the sheets were clean, the bed comfortable and the staff wonderful. ||The rooms are organised into bungalows around a central grassy area inhabited by native dear, a couple of pigs and a community of monkeys. The latter will steal anything from your hand if you let them and if you forget to close your bungalow door they will trash your room. ||The bedrooms open on too a large common seating area with high ceilings with vents allowing the warm air to escape. The bedrooms share the same tall structure with vents for the hot air to escape.... and mosquitoes to enter! There is no aircon but a small floor fan. I would strongly suggest taking copious supplies of repellant and covering ones self on regular occasions especially at night. ||There is a restaurant serving three basic meals a day. We had locally caught fish, squid, veg and rice. The staff throughout the resort were very friendly and v helpful. ||So why come to the Resort. Firstly, it's extremely peaceful/tranquil. That said at certain times of the year the area attracts vast numbers of migratory birds. A twitchers delight. During May through Sept the high season will mean the Resort is often full. In late September, not at all full. Other reasons include a guided ranger tour of the nearby river in an carved wooden canoe. Watch out for crocodiles, hornbills ( the sound their wings make is great ), flying fish and a selection of snakes, specifically pythons. ||From the camp take a walk into the adjacent jungle to the local beach with spectacular views. ||If you hope to see the rare Javan Rhino... the probability of spotting one is about 5% according to the guides. ||At weekends the Resort attracts large numbers of locals ( which includes those traveling from Jakarta - a minimum 6 hours trek) and then when full the Resort accommodates nearly 70 people and could be quite noisy. ||The Resort is within one of the National Parks. The history of the park dates back to the explosion of Krakatoa in 1883 when the entire island and its small fishing population was destroyed. The area was not repopulated and accordingly the jungle reclaimed what is naturally it's to reclaim. Given how much of Indonesia is subject to aggressive deforestation and destruction of the habitat of indigenous people and animals it's nice to see nature thriving. ||Cox and Kings should be more honest in the...
Read moreWow, Ujung Kulon National Park is truly the most pristine and full of life place on Java Island and the Nikki Peucang's Batik Villas are by a mile the best place to stay in if you want to explore it. ||||Peucang Island is gorgeous, soft white sand, we had a strong cool breeze during our stay which made the temperatures very pleasant but did blow sand in your eyes in some areas. Head down towards the water on the beach to avoid this. The jungle on the island is full of life from deer, to Hornbills and has a number of fascinating huge trees which you can see and climb if you are adventurous, a natural jungle gym!||||I was hesitant in planning a trip to Ujung Kulon because I had read all of the horrible reviews about the accommodation in the national park lodges (Flora rooms). So when I saw that there were what looked like newly built beach villa's I decided it was time to actually pull the trigger and check out this amazing corner of Java Island. THOSE REVIEWS ARE NOT ABOUT THE BATIK VILLAS AT THE NIKKI PEUCANG. They are about the government run national park lodges which are fairly poorly maintained. The Batik Villas look exactly like the pictures and well maintained, nicely ventilated and clean. They have comfortable beds, clean linens, and good quality mosquito nets (Though, to be honest with the breeze on the beach at least while we were there I don't think we actually needed the mosquito net, we really didn't get bit at all except when venturing into the jungle.) Also the bathrooms of the Batik Villas are stunning, bamboo showers, nice clean well running flush toilets, and HOT WATER SHOWERS. In a place this remote (it took us 10 hours to get there from Jakarta) comfortable clean linens and a hot shower is as close to luxury as it gets. These are not a cheap accommodation but you get very good quality for your money considering the remote location and limited environmental impact. ||||If you want a comfortable place to explore a stunning national park full of life in Java and to see one the world's few remaining truly wild places the Batik Villas at the Nikki Peucang are a highly recommended place to stay. Do not be intimidated by the old reviews of the national park lodging these are a new and impressive offering run by a private corporation and take the standard of accommodation in Ujung Kulon to a...
