Mentawai Balcony — Hotel in Pulau Siberut

I spent two incredible weeks at Balcony, and everything was just perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness. Ale was taking care for us all the time making sure we enjoy our time on an island. After few days it felt like being part of a family here. The food was absolutely delicious every single day, and the accommodation felt like something out of a fairytale – cozy, clean, and beautifully. The vibes, the people, the surf – all amazing. When I got tired of surfing I got massage from Lucy which was also one of the top experiences - highly recommended when you’re there. And to top it all off, my boyfriend proposed to me during our stay, making this trip even more magical and unforgettable. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place for such a special moment.

Al and his family were amazing hosts, we were warmly greeted when we arrived and felt at home straight away. The accommodation was amazing and right on a beautiful white sand beach with palm trees. Comfortable beds and plenty room inside and bathrooms were spacious and amazing! Al’s wife made us 3 incredible meals daily with a plate of fruit with each meal, every meal was different each day. His son took us out on their boat everyday and put us in the right surf spot everytime, they load and offload all your boards for you and take photos of every wave you catch. All surf spots all close by and plenty to choose from, it was great to come back to land after a full day of surfing! I can’t recommend them enough and can’t wait to go back, great quality for money. Amazing stay! My 3 friends and I stayed for 4 days and Ale and his family took care of us in the best possible way. They are lovely, welcoming and fun. Included in the price are all the meals (and the cooks are excellent!), while if you want to go around the island(s) you need to pay a little extra, but completely worth it! The place is stunning, you will stay exactly on the beach, and it’s a perfect place to reach many nice spots around the island. A special mention for Rhamat and Khayka, our young guides, who brought us around under any weather conditions, showed us beautiful places and had fun with us! See you...
