Overall we really enjoyed the 6 nights we spent at the Hawk's Nest. The resort itself is nice and peaceful (although will get very busy at weekends with non guests) and the view from the rooms are very pretty.
The rooms themselves look more tired compared to the photos shown online but are still decent. The rooms were clean including the bedding. During your stay you can request to have your room cleaned. Rooms have a fan and air conditioning, as well as WiFi, hot water, and a supply of drinking water.
Other reviews have mentioned that kayaks and paddleboards are free to rent. This seems to have changed slightly - these are free to use for a limited time in the morning and are then available to rent for 100k for 3 hours.
Bikes are also available to rent. When we messaged in advanced we were told the rate was 100k per day, however on arrival this was changed to 150k (however were able to negotiate a discount to 120k for multiple days).
Pickup and drop offs to the ferry can be arranged for 150k each way.
The restaurant offered an ok selection of food (although would avoid the pizzas) but Sabang is only a 20 min bike ride away with many food options. One nice suprise was our room rate included breakfast (pancakes, eggs, or fried rice with fruit juice) which we were not expecting - not sure if this is now standard.
Overall would recommend...
ย ย ย Read moreI have stayed in this resort a few times and can't wait to go back. If you would like to find a secluded place with a gorgeous ocean view, private beach, and a green landscape, but yet a close proximity to the city center, this is the place to be. Surprisingly they offer all kind of water sport activities such as paddle board, canoe, fish, snorkel, and even a boat ride to klah, gapang, iboih, and rubiah islands with their own boat. Yes.. they have a boat too!!. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner on site can't be beat! For your dinner, you must request a catch of a day for a fish caught from their own farm fish located at the resort's ocean front . Start with a fresh papaya salad, then pick a grilled red snapper or may be a lobster, and topped it off with a squeeze of lime juice. I betcha you will have a good night sleep with a smile in your face!!
One more thing! If you are willing to wake up early in the morning, ask for dolphin watching. One of the resort's staff will take you with the boat to see hundreds or may be thousands of dolphin swimming in the...
