“Pelangi” is Rainbow in English. The resto name is surely derived from where it’s located, i.e. near Rainbow Hills area, passing through Jl. Pelangi Boulevard in Sentul (Babakan Madang district). From Sentul Selatan toll-gate exit, the resto is approximately 25 minutes drive. The outdoor concept is great during the pandemic. Open air sitting area with colourful beanbags represent the ‘pelangi’ (rainbow) in your photos.
Since this resto is becoming viral on social medias, many customers from the surrounding cities come on the weekends. Health protocols are in place, but you still need to be responsible for other people’s health and safety. The crowd seems to enjoy the atmosphere, even though the queue was quite long for ordering food. Nevertheless, the food was served in a timely manner, not too long. Actually it was fast, considering the long queue at the cashier.
The food are varied, from traditional Indonesian food to Western and other Asian snacks. We ordered lasagna, rib soup, and chicken salad. All are delicious according to our taste buds. The prices are reasonably expensive, since you are buying the view and atmosphere.
We came at around 2 pm, so we got direct sunlight now and then, but still some nice cool breeze from the mountain. There are a few tables indoor if you cannot bear the heat from the sun. Not sure what happened when the rain comes 🤭 Overall, it’s recommended! Must try! We will surely try to come for...
Read morePelangi is not only restaurant but also recreation park, villas and hotel, and glamping and education center as far as I can see.
THE ACOMMODATION: I came on Monday with no traffic jam and it took far across the Rainbow Hill before I could reach the restaurant. If you want to have a lunch in a nice seating position, please come after breakfast right away from Jakarta to avoid traffic jam on the week-end.
THE RESTAURANT: There are 2 restaurants, (1) one is in the upper hill serving mostly Indonesian food with free entry fee per person and (2) other one is below the hill serving mostly western food with complete scenery and every person comes im will be charged for IDR10K. I went to restaurant (1). The scenery was limited compare to (2), but still beautiful enough to experience "Pelangi". There was also live solo music, and the performer was alluring and polite at the same time.
THE FOOD: I had been missing the taste of Indonesian food, so I only managed to eat Indonesian food only at restaurant (1). I cannot be more satisfied that the taste was delicious. The bakso, the yamin, the siomay, the es krim gorenv were lit!!! But over all I LOVE CIRENG, IT WAS MY FIRST TIME EATING CIRENG AND I FALL IN LOVE WITH CIRENG. If you like to taste Indonesian real spice go ahead order kangung...
Read moreDear owner/management Pelangi Pool Lounge.
Just a short note. Today (21 may) am at Pelangi Pool Lounge. We had book the space 2 weeks ago & confirmed by CS WA. The table mentioned by staff at VIP 1 & VIP 2 Tent, it's confirmed during our review last 2 weeks.
UNFORTUNATELY, when we came today ontime. Those 2 tents were sold to other customers. Our group feel so BAD & our team looks stupid in front of our family grp. ...coz we have company for 20 pax adults with children. We have waiting & waiting ...it's very UN acceptable.
Your place was GREAT. The venue & facilities just perfect for group of few families like us. But the services, the commitment of management was so POOR.
Finally, the solution, we only had 1 VIP tent and rest of the family can not enjoy your TASTY FOOD coz no space table enough. Your person incharge only gave extra 4 rattan chair joint in in one tent (for more 20 adults + children ???). It's an awful experiences with Pelangi Park.
My team are from several area in Jakarta & most of them are respect person in their own company. So am afraid, it's made a bad image to their relatives also in the future
Hope this concerns took your attention & take action for better...
