RedDoorz Plus near Kualanamu Airport Medan — Hotel in Sumatra

When I arrived there was nobody at the reception and when someone finally came I was completely ignored. Their English was very bad, normal communication was almost out of the question. When I got my room it was not cleaned yet ( I arrived at 17:00), and got the room next to it. That one looked clean, but after looking a bit better: the sheets and pillows were filled with stains, the toilet looked disgusting (housekeeping probably only made up the bed instead of cleaning the room). I had to use the toilet so I cleaned it myself, the only reason I don't give it a 1 is when I told the staff that the sheets were dirty they came immediately to put clean sheets on, even though they forgot the pillow covers. They did try to help me the best that they could. And when I ordered food there was some plastic piece in there, when I told them they felt ashamed and kept apologizing. We arrived after a 12 h busride from Banda Ace and were very exhausted. But as we arrived they told us we can go in our room at 14.00 or we can pay 100'000 and we can go in the room now. Our room cost 125'000 and you charge for 4 h 100'000 ok?! The personal was in total very unfriendly not only at this situation as well when we ordered dinner. We never were in a situation like this were you couldn't speak to each other to find a solution. The room was very nice and totally ok. For the fellow travellers look that you come on time and enjoy the room but not more. Sadly we haven't felt welcome...

Pro: room is spacious and facility good, late-check in no problem

Con: bed sheets not super clean: some long hair on bed; breakfast: this is where i was not so happy about: upon check-in, they told me breakfast is until 10am. I did have my first-day’s breakfast around 10am no problem, nasi goreng and mie goreng, simple and good. But on the second day, i arrived at 9:40, there are still fried rice left-over, but they wouldn’t let me take them. Instead they only give me two pieces of cooked bread with condensed milk.
