Terrible hotel. Was there during Arbaeen and had a miserable experience. Let’s start with Hassan/Hasan at reception. Completely ignored me while he was ready to serve promptly any Arab the came in. Never experienced such blatant racism in Iraq, especially during Arbaeen, and after just completing the walk. Free Wi-Fi that doesn’t work 95% of the time. Wi-Fi keeps dropping, needing to connect every 2 mins, and then freezes. Every time I stepped out, the door keys would not work anymore. (Common issue throughout the hotel as the lobby was fully of people needed their door keys revalidated). AC was broken while it was 117 degrees Fahrenheit outside (47 degrees Celsius) Food was okay at best, lukewarm for the most part. Extremely expensive hotel for such deplorable quality/service. Demanded we pay the full price of our stay at check-in and not at checkout like every hotel in the world.

Skip this hotel at all costs. If you want something fancy, stay at Baron (it’s cheaper and way better), or if you want something close to the shines, my family and I had a wonderful experience at Naeem Al-Warith hotel — a 2 min. walk from Imam Hussain (AS), very polite and helpful front desk, nice clean rooms (bit tiny but that’s fine), good...

this hotel was located by bani harmain (closer to Hazrat Abbas as shrine) and they provided a shuttle to and from there for guests. the overall hotel is very clean and nicely decorated! the rooms were also very nice and there was no issue about noises from nearby rooms since the rooms are in an open-ish area.

the hotel itself also provides a breakfast in the morning which had a variety of foods, in case you’re a picky eater like me 😅

overall, i’d strongly recommend this hotel to anyone, though especially if you’re from the west because this hotel definitely reaches up to american standards in my opinion.

lastly, the hotel staff was extremely helpful especially since we couldn’t find transportation from karbala to najaf, and they were kind enough to arrange something for us.

iA i get the opportunity to come back to karbala again...

A Warm and Welcoming Stay

Our stay at the Karbala Rayhaan Hotel & Suites was truly delightful. From the moment we were greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff, especially Zeenat, we felt welcomed and well-cared for.

The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

Ali Haider was incredibly helpful in arranging transportation for our sightseeing in Karbala and our onward journey to Najaf, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience.

We were impressed by the overall service quality of the staff at the Karbala Rayhaan Hotel & Suites. A special thanks to Ali Haider and Zeenat for their exceptional customer service. You both are true assets to the hotel.

We highly recommend this hotel to anyone...

Absolutely ONE of the best hotels in Iraq and not just Karbala. 1. Staff are awesome and super polite 2. Super Clean 3. Great Quality Food - a selection of Iraqi & Middle Eastern 4. Dishes (ask for the Syrian breakfast) 5. Views of the City 6. Location is just perfect for travelling South or North of the country. 7. Prices are far better than local luxury hotels.
