This was our first accommodation upon arriving in Ireland at Shannon airport. Riverside Cottage was easy to get to and a perfect first stay. It is such a charming little bed and breakfast. It offers an intimate, homey experience. Ann was so warm and welcoming and put us right at ease after our long journey from the U.S. and driving for the first time on the left! The B&B is immaculately clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location cannot be any better. The Main Street of Doolin with its colorful buildings is steps away and is a beautiful picturesque backdrop for the B&B. The surroundings are like being in a postcard. From the B&B’s beautiful garden, to the colorful buildings of town, to the rolling hills and animals, everywhere around the area is stunning! The breakfasts provided offered a nice selection of choices, and it was so nice to be greeted warmly by Ann every morning as we took a seat in the breakfast room. All of the food was delicious. The smoked salmon and eggs, and the pancakes were standouts, as well as the homemade brown bread. We really felt well cared for and appreciated the homey feel of our stay. As for attractions, there is so much to do including The Cliffs of Moher, and The Burren, and easy driving to surrounding areas. Our favorite thing to do was walk up the side streets and take in all of the scenic views and sprawling farmland. I can’t recommend Riverside Cottage enough. Truly a gem in a picture...
Read moreMy husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Riverside Cottage. We were coming from Dublin for a few days to see the cliffs and enjoy local music in the pubs and this was the perfect location. We were able to walk to several pubs and even had lovely weather to wander around the town and pick up some souvenirs. We corresponded with Ann quite a bit before arriving and she answered all our questions and then had the chance to meet Breda during our stay who was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The room was spacious and very clean and the bathroom was plenty large for both of us to get ready - we were actually surprised how well the shower worked, we were a little nervous about what to expect, but it was great. We stayed for two nights and the breakfast on our first day was wonderful - pancakes, eggs, coffee, and traditional soda bread, and we had a chance to chat with other guests. We had to make an early flight out of Dublin on our last day so Breda prepared a to-go bag since we would miss breakfast filled with cheeses and yogurts and breakfast bars, it was unexpected but so thoughtful! She even gave us directions to avoid the crazy windy roads we took to get there and that was much appreciated! We would absolutely recommend this cottage, and would happily stay...
Read moreI had a magnificent stay at this beautiful cottage. My room was incredibly comfortable and charming. I got a wonderful nights sleep. The cottage is in a quiet location but in easy walking distance to everything you might want to see and do in Doolin--literally steps away from delicious food, traditional Irish music and a short walk to the pier. This alone would make me want to return but its not even the best part. Breda and Ann are truly wonderful humans; kind, warm and full of hospitality. They went above and beyond to make my experience in Doolin truly memorable, connecting me to local guides and sharing tips on quiet walks I could take on my own. They were so welcoming and kind! Breda's delicious breakfasts were the perfect start to my mornings! I will be returning in August and already booked another stay with them and plan to make this my County Clare resting place whenever I come to visit. Do yourself a favor and make...
