Beginning of April 2024

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay @ the Castle Grove Country House!

Accommodations:

Booked~2 rooms: each with shower & separate tub in bathroom w/ luxury toiletries

1standard twin room- w/ 2 twin beds,

1 Superior double room- w/ 1 large double bed

Our rooms~both spacious, big windows w/ lots of light, gorgeous/long curtains, beautiful vintage wardrobe & vanity, all w/ a victorian vibe. Lush & quaint gardens w/ daffodils & tulips in full bloom out our windows. Lovely stroll around the property in the evening! Little gem tucked sweetly off the main road.

Each bathroom~terrific water-pressured shower & separate soaking tub which was deep & relaxing & a special treat after a long day of sightseeing.

Dining~we dined in their luxurious large & open dark green painted restaurant for our included B&B breakfast w/ a quaint & delicious menu to choose from.

Service~Phenomenal! We reached out to the hotel a few hours prior to check-in to inquire if there was self laundry facilities for guests as I fell in a muddy bog. Irene was more than compassionate & took it upon herself to launder our dirty clothing despite housekeeping to have gone home for the day!

As we were traveling with our children, she also had unexpected Easter treats for each of our children upon arrival! Huge bonus points!

Soon after getting settled, my daughter and I enjoyed a charming tea service in the drawing room w/ the tastiest shortbread biscuits I have ever eaten, warmed by a lovely wood burning fire.

Thank you to Irene, Karoline, Jaclyn, & Mr. Raymond who helped make our stay feel warm, inviting, & terrific!

Overall, Castle Grove Country House was a wonderful stop for us and we highly recommend it! A true...

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this house wasn’t just a venue—it was the setting of a real-life fairy tale. Every detail, from the house to the impeccable service, made our wedding weekend truly magical.||||The staff went above and beyond to ensure that everything was flawless. They treated us—and our guests—with such warmth and care, making everyone feel special. We felt completely at ease, knowing we were in the best hands.||||The ceremony setup outside was absolutely breathtaking: surrounded by the beautiful grounds, blue skies and a view over looking the Lough Swilly.||Our guest's were able to enjoy the reception by exploring the grounds while also enjoying the food and entertainment. It was such a fun and relaxing atmosphere for everyone. The food was nothing short of exquisite. Every dish was crafted with care and beautifully presented. ||||Our bridal suite was just magical —a luxurious, peaceful retreat with thoughtful touches that made us feel pampered and at home. Waking up as newlyweds in such a serene and beautiful place was the perfect start to our new chapter.||||To anyone considering this venue for a wedding or special event: do it. This place is pure magic. We’ll forever cherish the memories we made here.||||To Irene and the lovely staff at Castle Grove, we want to thank you all again from the bottom of our hearts for making our big day so...

Decided to go here as had seen it in 'the blue book ', which gives information etc regarding hotels and places to either visit or stay. It is well out of the way, and very private, it is sign posted, and once discovered, easy to find again. It is a rather large manor house, and really impressive with first impressions. Plenty of parking outside, with a 2 minute walk to the reception. The staff are extremely friendly, and really helpful, as the rooms are named after famous poets. We had the W.B. Yeats room, quite elegant, tall ceiling, carpet flooring, ensuite large, with bath and shower. Only downside is the mattress was a bit too flat. The restaurant was well laid out, and once again the staff exceptional, as you wait in a sitting room, and a member of staff would come in and ask if you would like a drink or beverage. Then when served, they would take your dinner order, and when ready, would open the door to the dining room and escort you to your table. Dress is casual, or formal, whatever you are comfortable with. The food is top notch, first class, as we both opted for the chicken, which was outstanding. Along with roast potatoes and vegetables. The grounds are also worth a walking around, as well as the walled garden, of where the vegetables are grown for the menu. All in all, a beautiful place, relaxing experience, and somewhere to go to...

The family team at Castle Grove have been absolutely fantastic! we're on night 2 of our 3 night stay, but I write this now as I proposed to my partner today while here... absolutely stunning views, the food is amazing, the house made gin & cider is lovely! the family team here have been great, from the bottom of our hearts thank you! it's sometimes not easy, an openly gay couple booking into a double room but everyone has made us feel so welcome and I truly wouldn't have picked anywhere else to get engaged! we will 100% be back! p.s highly recommend the exclusive suite!! 😊

My husband and I stayed here for one night. It is a charming, beautiful, old world, country home. Very specious bedroom en-suite. Very comfortable bed with Egyptian cotton bed linen. A number of drawing rooms to relax in by open fire burning logs. The dinning experience was excellent with fruit and veg from the garden and meat sourced locally, delicious. Best of all are the staff who will immediately go out of their way to serve and please. We loved it ❤️
