Stayed here for two nights in April 2018.
The owner, Chris, was on hand to welcome us. During our stay he was very helpful and made our time here very enjoyable.
The site itself is well maintained, and blends very well with the environment.
There is a combination of gravel hard standing and also grass pitches. Most pitches are more or less level, but it's worth bringing ramps in case.
There are plenty of mature trees, but equally plenty of grassed open space too. The night lights are reasonably effective without being intrusive.
The facilities are by the way in barrier, including separate toilets, unisex showers, laundry room and games room.
There is a TV room with the WiFi network connection and children's play area at the far side of the site.
Price for a night was €24 including EHU. This is the best value we've found on our trip around Ireland.
Showers are included. Well behaved dogs are allowed. Washing is €3 and the dryer €1 per 30 mins.
The only slight drawback is it is a little out of the way, but worth it for the...
Read moreWe recently camped in our tent for two nights at Ballinacourty House Caravan and Camping Park. Meg and the rest of the staff are amazing. What great fun we had. The grounds are beautiful. There was a nice selection of flowers blooming in the Secret Garden which is a short walk from the campsites. Having camped in the wilderness (and some state/national campgrounds) in the US, we were not sure what to expect. The staff at Ballinacourty provided us with a large grassy area to set up our tent. We were close to the bathrooms. They also provided a small kitchen area to eat, cook, and get out of the rain if necessary. The campground was quiet and very well run despite the fact that it was filled with lots of people. There were lots of families with children from all over the world. Everyone was very friendly. We cannot say enough good things about our camping experience here. During our three weeks in Ireland we camped in numerous places. Ballinacourty was the very...
Read moreThis lovely peaceful campsite is within walking distance of Lisvernane a small rural village with a small shop( Moroneys) that stocks all the essentials and a lovely welcome from the owner. Chris the campsite owner is very welcoming and helpful- Both he and his granddaughter Meg work very hard to keep this campsite in tip top condition.Showers are free warm and clean. There is a campers kitchen with a pleasant seating area. Laundry facilities are very good and not overpriced. There are 3 well signposted walks from the village- best to start here even though the Carroll loop passes by the campsite- we did this one- about 5 Km and not very steep- a climb at the beginning- bring a walking pole as s bit rocky in parts Aherlow house hotel is within walking distance and serves very good food and drink Ballinacourty House is centrally located to visit Mitchelstown caves and Lough Gur- also the towns of Mitchelstown and Fermoy.
