There were 37 of us travelling on a Globus coach around southern Italy and Sicily over 2 weeks. |We stayed at some nice places - but this wasn't one of them.|As old farms go it's a pretty remote location and while the tour kept us busy, if you didn't get out, you'd need a very good book. |The main room is lovely - high ceilings, stone arches and a stone floor and there's a pool outdoors - but it wasn't that warm.|Not speaking Italian, we didn't really care about the miserable 18" flat screen TV in the room.|WIFI in the room was rubbish, you had to go back to the breakfast room to get it.|The lack of an air cond control was bad and the lack of tea making facilities in the room bugged us too.|What surprised us the most, was the bed was shorter (15cm?) AND harder than anywhere else we stayed - and that did get to us. |As did the flat pillows - and yes the extra pillow they supplied was just as flat too.|The rooms 1970's mid green decor and the smaller than usual room size made us think LOW BUDGET ACCOMMODATION.|And that thought kept coming back - BOTH MORNINGS - as l sipped the COLD COFFEE, suffered into the COLD SCRAMBLED EGGS and grimaced at the COLD BACON. |A friend tried a tea bag - but the "hot water" was too cold to make the teabag work!!!!|"Is there a microwave here?" I asked but was told no.|At least the pastries were tasty and fresh.|But yes, they would have been even better with a hot coffee. |And Mr Manager - don't say you'll try harder or that there were "technical difficulties", YOU'RE A SAD JOKE! |You make GLOBUS look cheap!|Here's a thought, sack yourself and hopefully the next person will know what experienced travellers expect...

Read moreVery lovely peaceful location in the rolling hills of Puglia, dotted with trulli, historic ruins and and some interesting wildlife. Great place to go for a relaxed stroll after a busy day. Staff very friendly, loved my room in the main building, very stylish. The only thing lacking here was a table and chair to sit and do a bit of writing. Good bed!||||Dinner was excellent.||||The only thing that let this place down in my opinion was breakfast. This was not a matter of quality (though a boiled or scrambled egg would have been nice) but of organization. You have a group of 40 Dutch guests who have breakfast at 8 o'clock, and you are halfway trough stocking the buffet at 8 o'clock- bad planning. Because all these people will be there at precisely 8 o'clock, and love to eat bread with cheese.|| ||Two loaves of bread are on the table, and a plate with 30 or so slices of cheese. This of course evaporates within seconds, and then the staff take a long time to restock these vital items. Meanwhile, they are trying to serve tea and coffee, but are so busy restocking the buffet that these arrive at the tables late and cold. And at the very end, when everybody is done eating, suddenly cannisters of warm milk are brought to the tables. Mustard after the meal!||All of this annoyance could have been avoided if the staff had started just a bit earlier. From the chaos and baffled looks on their faces it seemed like this was the first time they were doing this, but I doubt that was the case. They just needed to be managed better.||||Other than that, great place and I highly...
