After arriving at Olbia by ferry, we rode to Monticanaglia in the search of Hotel La Borgata. It took us quite some time to locate La Borgata, because the address was not recognized by our GPS. Hence we entered Arzachena and had to rely upon the helpfulness of people along the way. ||A side note: whenever there is no precise address that your GPS recognizes, check whether the hotel indicates its exact GPS Coordinates. If so, you can enter them into your GPS under "coordinates" and save them as favorite under the name of your destination. This will be obvious to the techies out there, but I only just found this out during this trip and had to explain it to several other travelers we met on our way.||The GPS coordinates for Hotel La Borgata are:||N 41°04.109'||E 009° 29.152'||The first look at the hotel could indeed be misleading. It is isolated, and the parking lot consists of an uneven, graveled surface that is fine for cars and light motorcycles, but a little more challenging for maneuvering a heavy Harley Davidson Road King.||We noticed however that it is under video surveillance.||Since we arrived hours before check-in time, our room was still occupied and needed to be cleaned. The lady at the reception was extremely nice: she invited us to have breakfast and gave us the wifi code so that we may wait comfortably for our room to be ready. Two very pleasant surprises: the wifi worked very well, and the breakfast was complementary even though we hadn't spent the previous night.||As we entered our room we were struck by its spaciousness, cleanliness, and overall comfort. The bathroom looked new and bright. The bed was very comfortable. The only day we used the flat screen TV was when it rained outside; reception was good and there was a large variety of channels to choose from.||One can opt to have breakfast inside or under an awning on the patio. Breakfast consists of a choice of bread, toasts, cold cuts, jams, fruit, juices, and coffee. We always enjoyed our breakfast outside, under the attentive and friendly care of the hotel's staff.||The hotel's location is excellent for touring provided one has a vehicle. ||If you want a simple, inexpensive, clean and comfortable hotel, La Borgata is your choice. In addition, you will be amazed by the warmth and friendliness of its owners and staff. As we checked out, we truly felt as though we were leaving a welcoming home rather than a...
Read moreThe first look at the hotel from outside could be misleading. We thought that the hotel will be very bad, because it looked abandoned. However, inside it was clean, nice designed, spacious and comfortable. Also there was a balcony with dryer, spacious and clean bathroom. The breakfast was OK, but could be improved - there was no croissants. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location is not very convenient - you should definitely have a car to reach some beaches or something else as nearby there are no supermarkets,...
