La Valle de Medici — Hotel in Barberino di Mugello

Our family of 2 adults and 3 kids stayed here for 2 fantastic weeks. We had a wonderful relaxing time, the place is just so gorgeous - better even than the photos. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer - friendly and attentive but not intrusive and there was so much to do here - table tennis, volley ball, archery, a little wooden playground and of course the icing on the cake - the glorious pool and pool area in the garden. Our kids had so much fun and we had such a chilled out and relaxing holiday here. The amazing gardens are so well tended and have a lovely atmosphere - and so much beautiful bird song. There's a small bar open at weekends and a pizza oven area. Barbarino di Mugello is a small town but there are a few great places to eat and our hosts recommendations were spot on. The designer outlet nearby was good for a visit but Valle di Medici makes a great base for visiting Firenze, Bologna, Pisa, Lucca, Ferrari Museum etc. Its lovely to retreat to this wonderful place after a day sightseeing. If there is a place to stay in Tuscany - this is this address. We traveled with our kids and the garden is awesome (mega pool !!, football and volley-ball fields + ping pong). But what we love the most is the hospitality of the familly (Samuel, Alessio and their parents Pino and Maria). They are more than lovely and friendly. Definetely one of the best places we had the chance to stay at. The familly is always ready to help you and they love kids (our 2 sons were like stars during these days). They also offered us to prepare a barbecue with tuscanian beef (and if you have this chance, don't hesitate, SAY YES). But more seriously, even after only 1 night, we were like at home. I REALLY recommend this place to stay for visiting Tuscany and I will go back again (promised !!). I cannot find my words to say this is the place you'll need to feel confortable, to eat well and to meet awesome people in a beautiful environment. To summarize, go !...

This is a beautiful villa split into self catering apartments. The decor is lovely and the gardens are really beautiful. Such a lot of care and attention obviously goes into the running of this place.||||When we arrived we were greeted by Silvio, so friendly, who gave us a bottle of Chianti and a basket of home grown tomatoes. ||||This place works for those with kids and those without. A pool, a stack of toys, ping pong table, slide, swings and little wooden football posts... all there to be used when you want. A BBQ area to use and great space around the pool to read and relax.||||We came here with our two year old but could easily imagine us here in the days before he came along.||||What else to say? Within striking distance of Florence and surrounded by the Tuscan hills. ...
