I’d highly recommend Piani di Bobbio. It’s a small resort, which is easy to access from Milan, Bergamo or Lecco and offers a nice day on the slopes. Is it the best skiing? Probably not. Is it good for super experienced skiers? Probably not.
It has a good mix of beginner and easy intermediate slopes, however its black slopes are not enormously challenging or technical. The runs (with the exception of the ones to Valtorta) are pretty short but that does have the benefit of allowing you to get more in. It’s a fairly low resort and as a result we encountered some bleak weather, however it was mid March when we visited so we were just amazed that there was any snow at all.
The resort has a pretty local feel, it was mostly Italians and day trippers from Milan and the prices for hire, ski pass and even food on the mountain were pretty affordable.
As others will say, transport to Barzio from Lecco isn’t the best (however there are day transfers from Milan) so I would recommend either staying in the village or taking a car if you want to make the most of the skiing. Parking is affordable at the Gondola station (€5 a day) but it does fill up, there is free parking around the village and it’s...
Read morePiani di Bobbio is a delightful ski destination, conveniently located just an hour from Milan, offering everything a winter sports enthusiast could wish for. The ski area is well-equipped with a variety of excellent trails catering to all skill levels, ensuring a thrilling experience whether you’re a beginner or an expert. The onsite restaurants serve up delicious, comforting meals, perfect for refueling after a day on the slopes.
A handy tip for visitors is to head straight up the mountain and utilize the rental facilities there, as they tend to be less crowded than the ones near the cable car entrance. This smart move can save you time, letting you maximize your day on the snow.
The absence of any drawbacks highlights the area’s appeal; it’s a place where every aspect contributes to an unforgettable skiing adventure. The charm of Piani di Bobbio has us already planning our next visit, eager to once again embrace the snowy slopes, cosy atmosphere, and...

Otherwise, you can buy just 1-way ticket and stay there till how long you want. There is a 1.5 hours walk to get down. The patch is well maintained but you must have good hiking shoes.
