We started our honeymoon at Relais Sant’Elena in Bibbona, and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone who worked there was so kind and accommodating, and it truly set the tone for the rest of our trip. The property is incredibly relaxing, and the food was outstanding. Everything served is local to the estate or region, and you can really taste the care that goes into every dish.||Breakfast was one of the highlights. I had read wonderful things about it beforehand, and it exceeded every expectation. You can tell nothing goes to waste and every ingredient is used thoughtfully. Dinner, available only to guests, changes daily and was consistently delicious. ||Our room, one of the smaller options, was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully appointed, though next time I would love to splurge on a slightly larger one. We purchased several of their products at the end of our stay, including the shampoo and olive oil, and were even gifted their lovely body lotion.||From the complimentary aperitivo upon arrival to the tranquil pool with poolside service, every detail felt special. One extra delight was the old mill (visible from the estate) that was within walking distance and open during aperitivo hour — sipping our drinks there with its beautiful views was such a cool plus to the whole experience. We also loved using the bikes to explore the nearby town one morning. Before our stay, the staff was incredibly responsive and offered great recommendations, which made planning so easy. The prices were also very fair for the quality and experience.||We did not know much about the Bolgheri region before visiting, but we fell in love with it, especially the wines. I cannot recommend Relais Sant’Elena enough and truly hope to...
Read more"What was the best part of your holiday?" I asked my partner over lunch on the patio. "Arriving here" he replied, and i must say I have to agree. This place is heaven on earth and the perfect getaway for peace and quiet accompanied by excellent food and service. The grounds are absolutely stunning, teaming with islands of wild flowers. The patios are surrounded by bunches of large terracotta pots adorned with herbs and fruit. It's so lovely watching the person you just ordered a cocktail from pick fresh mint from a bush before heading to the bar. The interiors of the hotel have been thought out immaculately, beautifully complimenting the idea of a "country home in Tuscany" feel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the bathroom amenities like the body wash and shampoo are a dream to use, all products made with their very own olive oil. The common areas are all extremely comfortable, both inside and out, i loved curling up on the couch with a macchiato and a fresh baked biscuit in the afternoon. The service and the staff are really fantastic, you feel like you can ask for anything anywhere and it will be done. The food is simple, locally sourced and all made totally from scratch, many of the ingredients are also sourced from the hotel's estate giving everything a fresh farm to table feel. This was easily one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and we will very definitely be back to stay again, thank you Sant'Elena for the...
Read moreOne of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Idyllic, peaceful, homely - every staff member is warm and kind. Swallows nest in the ceilings of the corridors and fly over you as you walk to your room or garden. The hotel’s cats wander independently throughout the place amusing themselves and adding charm to its lazy day atmosphere. The food is unreal, locally sourced produce and something a bit different available at every dinner. The wine list is extensive and with a good selection of more affordable yet delicious bottles should you prefer to spend a little less. The breakfast is particularly outstanding with pastries, eggs, cakes, salad and spreads of all kinds and freshly made. It was an ideal spot for a honeymoon. The service was very personable and the staff remembered names and intolerances with unrehearsed ease. The town of Bibbona is a short cycle ride away (you can borrow bikes for free) where a wide range of bars and restaurants await you in the evening. This is the kind of resort that evokes an immediate nostalgia. Many of the guests we met there too were coming back over a decade later. You can have ‘aperitivo’ anywhere you like in the evening. With its small number of rooms there is always somewhere peaceful you can enjoy a moment. There is even a small but very well equipped gym on site with a fan for the summer months. Rooms are gorgeous and have air con. Essential in the summer. I cannot think of a better place to...
