We have spent many summers in Italy and have always been met with warmth and genuine hospitality—until this visit. Unfortunately, our stay at this agriturismo was a significant disappointment on several levels.
The location itself is far from peaceful or rural charm: wedged between a busy motorway and active train tracks, the constant noise made it hard to relax or rest. But what truly ruined the experience was the attitude of the owner.
What appeared to be polite smiles quickly gave way to arrogance and an unpleasant atmosphere. Most shockingly, we overheard the owner speaking disparagingly about us in Italian, assuming we wouldn’t understand. He criticized us for supposedly leaving too much food at breakfast—an accusation that was both exaggerated and inappropriate. Rather than addressing the matter respectfully or acknowledging his mistake, he doubled down, fixating on two eggs and a croissant as evidence of our “disrespect” for food.
Throughout our stay, he frequently pointed out that he had built the place himself, seemingly more interested in self-congratulation than in providing a welcoming environment for guests. This attitude translated into a rigid, judgmental, and ultimately uncomfortable atmosphere.
If you’re traveling with small children, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. There was little understanding or warmth towards families, and we felt unwelcome for reasons that were never clearly explained.
Regrettably, this was the worst service and behavior we’ve encountered in years of visiting Italy. There are so many beautiful and genuinely hospitable places in this country—do yourself a favor and choose one of...

Read moreWe just spend a week here and leaving felt very difficult. Upon arrival we were greeted by the family that runs this place.
The room we got, was nice, bed was comfortable but we had no fridge and we asked if we could use theirs to have a few perishable items. We were told the fridge in our room was being repaired and it was installed the day after. Very efficient.
Despite being close to the expressway, it's very quiet, surrounded by mountains and vineyards. It's very picturesque. They also produce wine there and it is indeed a decent wine.
In the evenings, we and other guests would sit on the terrace where the family also spend their evenings and everyone would have a glass of wine. You felt very much included in the family.
The breakfast is very nice, cold cuts, cheese, fresh vegetables, yogurts, homemade jams, fruit, sweets etc. More than your heart desires.
As mentioned the family is very warm and caring and special thanks to Jonathan for being so patient with our many, many questions, and like the rest of them, always conversations were with a smile.
This is not our last visit. Many thanks and greetings from Luxembourg,...
