This is the best camping experience I have had until now. We returned every night to our hut with beautiful fireflies in the background, swam in the lake laced with water lily leaves, picked zucchinis from the garden for dinner, and had the best sleep of our lives in our hut. We stayed for a week in the 2-person hut, which came with a very clean bed, electricity, basic utensils (2 of everything: cups, water glasses, small and big plates, knives/spoons/forks. 1 of each: pot, pan, sieve, wooden spatula, biletti), and a sitting area (wooden table and two benches) just in front. So theoretically, there is no need to bring a lot of camping equipment at all. We brought some sleeping bags just in case it might be cold at night, but we ended up not using them. There were also plenty of sitting/lying areas scattered around the place too, either under pergolas or trees, so on days when we were feeling too lazy to leave the camping site we could find a nice spot to read and drink our san bitterino and then jump into the lake. The shower and the toilet were always clean, and there were also common fridges and cooking area with gas stoves plus a huge common grill. Within 25 min you can walk to the nearby Trattoria Iesolana for dinner, or drive 5 min into the dear little village Bucine with quite a few restaurants. Our favourite was definitely La Bottega La Grasse. For sightseeing we went to Bagni San Felipe (natural warm spring), which turned out to be the highlight of the trip, and also to Maremma Natural Park for the beautiful beach. We were expecting to see deers and foxes there, but ended up seeing none, and spotting instead a young deer right at the entrance of our camping site when we returned late at night. Every day we discovered little details that showed how much care and effort has been put into the place to maintain the balance between men and nature and how beautiful a place could be when that is achieved. Stefan’s (the owner) passion for sustainability indeed made this campsite a really special place which clearly distinguishes itself from many others that we have been to. It is definitely...

Read moreWhat a wonderful campsite! Camping in a forest, with pool, whirlpool, lake, badminton field, table foot, free usage of fridge and bread delivered at the campsite. The owner Stefano is one of the kindest people you will ever meet.
The campsite has spots for tents in the Forrest. Don’t be surprised if you hear - or see — wild boards 🐗 at night, they enjoy the forresty surroundings just as much we do 😊.
Campers and caravans can stay around the central field or near the reception area where you will have wonderful views on the valley and mountain.
Also scattered around the forest are cabins for 2 or 4 people.
The visitors are international, with mainly Dutch, German and Belgian families. Given the facilities and lack of entertainment, it is probably somewhat less suited for families with adolescents but that depends on one's preference of course (our kids are 10, 12 and 15 and loved it here although there were few other kids of their age). Most kids are between 0-8 years old and for them it's simply paradise.
A supermarket is at 7 minutes drive as is a superb pizzeria, both in Bucine.
There's a lot to visit in the surroundings. Cities like Siena, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Pienza ano Perugia are all within an hour reach. Lake trasimeno is also close at 45min and you can travel by boat to two islands there.
We will definitely return...
