The host family on this farm will provide you with the warmest, most genuine, most Italian experience of any family trip. Elisabetta will leave freshly baked chocolate cake on your stoop (from scratch using their own chicken eggs) every morning for your children's breakfasts! The garden and its produce are open for your picking and you can purchase oil and wine, products of the farm, at minimal fees. The quality of the products is just unimaginable - meeting the highest standards for Tuscan products. It is best to have a car - and very easy to reach the beaches (5 minutes to the nearest ones and another 10 minutes to Baratti Bay which is a gorgeous beach without much development - and with good snorkeling.) Our family was, I believe, la Ranocchiaia's first from the US. Our son fell in love with the farm, its pool, its machinery and the surrounds. We found ancient hilltop towns in easy reach, water parks and amusements parks. Since our first visit seven years ago, we have managed to visit Elisabetta and her family every year - and made such good friends with them that we have had them in our home in the states. It is a terrific place to visit and will cement a lasting love in anyone's heart for Italians and for Italian farming as a way of life. Our holiday at La Ranocchiaia was our first holiday as four. Little did we know how much our two young children would love playing with all the toys (incl ride on tractors/motorbikes and scooters) and playing with all the children.||We loved our beautiful apartment with a very well equipped kitchen that really became home away from home, and the beautiful countryside surrounding the guesthouses dotted around different corners of the farm (great for exploring if you are a runner) and having so many options in terms of beaches and off course the amazing big pool right in our backyard. ||As has been previously written our host Elizabetta really was amazing. Everything from the decor, to the gardens, to the seating by the pool, to the social events she put on came from her real genuine love and desire for her guests to have a great time.||Having a car is essential - the local supermarket ( 5 mins) Conrad is out of this world - it even has ride on shopping trolley/car...

Huge, airy apartment set well away from the main complex through an avenue of cypress trees which we could reach by car or on the bikes provided free of charge by the very gracious host Elisabetta. We really had everything we needed - a huge pool, great toys for younger kids around the pool area, bikes for kids and adults, amazing beaches within a five minute drive. Elisabetta left a lovely welcome package for us with bread, water, coffee, jams for breakfast etc and looked after us very thoughtfully throughout our stay (we have two young boys and a newborn), providing cots, extra bedding, and also swimming towels without any fuss. We really felt that her business is a labour of love and it is reflected in the quality of the welcome you receive and the holiday you will have there! 10/10...
