We have been postponing this small vacation in Elba for some time, but we eventually made it, hosted by the Tenuta della Ripalte. The place is acclaimed as a high end retreat and I have no reason to say otherwise. If isolation you are after, this is definitely the place for you. Villas scattered across what it seems to be a peninsula of Elba nearby Capoliveri. Very French feel to the place, with dated buildings and amenities. Take it as a compliment to the place. Outdoor activities also available, as horse riding and mountain biking. A gorgeous private beach, endless vineyards and breathtaking view point terrace recknown for its sightseeing. I would add a classy restaurant with molecular dishes that it is worth experiencing. Not necessarily delighted with the long drive to reach the place, long dirt roads that we had to climb with a little rented run around every time we had to leave the place. The sight seeing compensated but still pretty annoying. My final recommendation to the patrons of the place: for God sake, for such a sunny plave, put some drapes in bedroom! We had to improvise with blankets .. not very 5 starish feeling, but overall .. good experience but unlikely to return to this particular accomodation. Elba see you soon but we might sleep...
Read moreAgain we chose to spend our summer holiday at the Tenuta Delle Ripalte. We stayed at an apartment and enjoyed the aircondition as it was quite hot this time.||We knew what to expect and again we spent time at the lovely natural beaches, swimming, snorkeling, relaxing. The staff at Remaiolo is very helpful and cheerful. An umbrella with two beds costs 30 Euro, which seems to be the usual price, and can be reserved by phone. The boat trip can also be recommended to see a bit of the coast and go snorkeling in another place.||The restaurant at Remaiolo serves some tasty dishes and the staff is friendly. There‘s a griglata of fish on Tuesday evening - unfortunately no real vegetarian alternative and a long time between the courses, which could improve with time. ||While my daughters and I enjoyed riding on the sure-footed Arabian horses my husband took some Tennis lessons and enjoyed mountain biking on the various trails through the fantastic landscape.||I‘d like to specially recommend the free yoga lessons by Michele every Monday to Friday morning, no reservation needed. As a beginner I felt comfortable among the more experienced Yoginis. What a great way to start the day, connecting body,...
Read moreI have traveled to many places around the world and this place is top notch! We absolutely fell in love, it is the most magical place I’ve ever been. The villa was beautiful with the most stunning views of the ocean, the private beaches were something out of a fairytale but what made our stay the most magical was the staff. When I say they go above and beyond I mean it. They work really long days and you will never see them without a smile and warm greeting. They took the time to learn our names and every time they saw us they called out our names and it made us feel so special and included. Matteo, Kabiel, Luana, Carlo (lifeguard) and Carlo (jeep tour guide) also the blonde that does the bike rentals. I’m so sorry I don’t remember your name but they have the most impeccable customer service I have ever experienced in my life. My family cried as we drove away back to reality after 8 days on the resort. We desperately want to figure out how to return every year. So anyone considering visiting, consider no longer, just book it and have the time of your life. Thank you for everything we will miss you...
