We arrived in the evening during the week. The restaurant was closed. The only place nearby to eat was a pizza place with a bunch of kids hanging around the front and no one eating pizza. The evening clerk was very helpful, and sent us to a local restaurant we had to drive to, but it was OK. ||||The neighborhood is run down and full of trash.||||The room was hot as blazes. It was 95 degrees out. No one thought to turn on the a/c for us, I guess. We closed the windows and left to try to find the airport and something to eat. We hoped the room would be cooler when we got back. When we returned 3 hours later, the room was still 82 degrees. We asked the new night clerk to help us look at the a/c. He kept trying to say the thermostat reading was the temperature of the room, and the room temperature was the outside temperature. He obviously did not understand how a/c works or how to help us figure out how to get more a/c out of the unit. I asked about another room. He said they were all the same. Finally, he conceded it was hot but that to Italians, it was "cool" in the room. I asked for a fan to help with the heat. There was no fan. It was very hard to sleep in that heat. ||||Each time I tried to call this night clerk, I had to walk down and he was on the phone with a personal call. ||||There was no light in the stair well. The elevator was scary slow and I was afraid it would stop working, so I took the stairs.||||Feral cats everywhere, even laying under your tires. We had to be careful not to run over cats and kittens. ||||The phone had some kind of white nastiness in the phone receiver. I don't even want to think about what it could have been. ||||I asked for a wake up call at 4:30. Night clerk said he would call at 4:40. I asked again for 4:30. He said 4:30 and 4:40 are the "same thing." I got the call at 4:40. ||||The hotel is a long, long way from the airport and you have to go down confusing streets full of trash to find your way there. We left a half an hour early, before dawn, to avoid the traffic and give ourselves time to get there. GPS says 20 minute drive. Good luck with that.||||There is no way this is a 3 or 4 star hotel....
Read moreWe stayed here for one night prior to flying home from Naples airport. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport and a taxi is 30 Euros to get you there. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent with a good selection of pastries, cold meats, cheese, real coffee, cereal, fruit, etc. It is also served from 6.30am, which is great for early-morning flights. The real highlight of staying here, however, was our discovery of a lovely little pizza shop about 3km away. We walked into the nearby town, and found Pizzeria Ciro. It is a family-run restaurant and they don't speak a lot of English, but they are extremely friendly and their pizzas are absolutely delicious. To reach it, leave the hotel and turn right. Turn right again and walk until you reach the main road. Turn right once more and you'll eventually reach it. You will not be disappointed and it's definitely...
Read moreThis property is well outside Naples so not ideal if you're not using a car. If you are driving it offers a good location to drive to Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculaneum, etc.||Mediocre selection for breakfast, cold meats and cheese with fruit and yogurt but ok menu for evening meals.||The family room is a decent size and was very clean. Comes equipped with a small kitchenette (we never used this).||||Comfortable beds, linen smelt and felt brand new.||Water pressure in our shower was a bit weak but did the job.||Not a great location for anything but does offer secure parking and easy access to the autostrada.||While there is free wifi available, we could not get a signal in our room.||The staff were all helpful...
