Where do I begin ? My stay at La Madonnina in August 2022 with my sister was so amazing and relaxing that I returned last week (August 2023) with my sister, my Mom and my 2 daughters. A family-run hotel where you feel like part of the family. A perfect place for relaxing and spiritual renewal.

The cheerful, warm voices of beautiful women, Rosa and Benedetta (the owners), Mirella, Annalucia and Rosa-Maria greet you as soon as you arrive. Check-in is swift, allowing one to change and rapidly go down to the beach club for lunch. Quick-witted and gorgeous Giorgio, who runs the restaurants, greets and serves us delicious, fresh meals everyday. Francesco and Bianca are right next to him making sure everything is perfect. Gaspare is behind the bar making amazing cocktails. The restaurant service is 5-star...smiley, attentive, prompt, flexible & proactive. A perfectly in-sync team. Breakfast at the hotel offers a plethora of delicious food choices with smily Francesca at our service.

The rooms are spacious & immaculately clean (our 2 maids, Susie and Antionnetta attended to our every need) . The beds are dreamingly comfortable (best pillows ever !). The view from the room's terrace is breathtaking...overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea & the Hotel's spectacular beach club. One can sit in silence, with a cold glass of Biancolella, listening to the waves and watching the fishing boats go by.

We have already reserved for August 2024 and hope to go back every year. Bravo to everyone at...

La Madonnina Hotel & Spa located high on the cliffs of Ischia with spectacular views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Beautifully, spacious well appointed rooms-the floors are a work of art. Hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained. We received an upgrade to a larger room and a large patio with breathtaking views. Our rooms were ready when we arrived a couple of hours early. Outstanding service all the way around. The staff is warm, friendly and extremely helpful. The ladies at the front desk treated us like family. They assisted us with sending a car service to gather us from the port along with making the arrangements for our departure back to Naples. Recommended wonderful restaurants, places to visit and how to get around. Super convenient bus stop right outside the front door. The Hotel is in a great location between the two ports. Walking distance to one of the ports, shops, restaurants and gelato! Breakfast was included in the restaurant overlooking the sea. Great selections of both American and Italian style breakfast. All freshly prepared daily. The private beach club, outdoor patio for dining and the spa was amazing-chairs, umbrella's all included in the stay. La Madonnina was the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate after 10 days of traveling Rome and the Amalfi coast. I hope to return again someday. La Madonnina exceeded our expectations we recommend it highly!! Thank you La Madonnina for providing such...

Here's very honest and detailed review that can be useful.

Pros: The hotel and the beach are way more beautiful than in the pictures. The hotel seems brand new and the rooms are very clean and nice. The beach and the views are gorgeous, such a joy for the eyes The massage is one of the best I've ever had in my life. It's a great place for a spa retreat The reception staff is very responsive and kind The breakfast is excellent, with both a buffet and a la carte menu.

Cons: A room with two beds is actually a room with one bed and a very uncomfortable extra pullout bed. We got moved to what we were told is an actual room with 2 beds, but it was the same as before, just a bit bigger Safety standards at the beach are very low. I hit my head in one of the big rocks and the lifeguard came when I climbed up the beach stairs completely bloody (and he was never there btw) and he didn't know what exactly he should do until one of the guests explained it to him. Despite my face being covered in blood, they offered to call a doctor only over an hour later Some expensive personal things disappeared from our bedroom. The manager was very responsive and attentive and she checked all the security cameras and talked with her staff, however the few hundred EUR worth of items was never found.

So all in all, if you are a cautious swimmer, need one bed and you keep all your belongings in the safe this hotel would be a great...

Absolutely loved every minute of our stay at La Madonnina, three nights was absolutely not long enough! We had a room overlooking the sea with a terrace - a phenomenal experience from start to finish. The location is very accessible - we purchased a bus pass for the week (€14) when we arrived on the ferry and used it to get all over the island, without ever needing a taxi. The bus stop is located right at the front door of Madonnina - we also walked back from Porto which was scenic and not too far. Service of the hotel was wonderful, everyone was very kind and asked if we needed anything without ever being over-bearing. Stefania at the desk was lovely and Aldo at the bar was a delight, too. HerRecommended drinks outside of the normal Aperitif that were 10/10, and that we continued to order throughout the trip. The sea dock was the perfect place to relax before exploring the island - there’s a bar, a thermal spring and many places to lounge or swim. The absence of a pool is no problem - as the sea area offers all you’d need. This was such a beautiful place and we’re grateful to have experienced it! Until next time, Ciao!

If I could give more than five stars I would! This was truly the highlight of our time in Italy. I have traveled a lot and also worked in hotels so I can be a bit particular, but everything about La Madonnina was above and beyond. It is quiet, immaculately clean, full of beautiful small details and lush gardens. The private beach, sunbathing platforms, restaurant and spa made it so we never had to leave the resort unless we wanted to. Breakfast was by far the best selection we had anywhere and the staff is so kind and generous. We were traveling with our toddler and they made us feel so taken care of, and even offered him beach toys and little treats to take with us on our journey. If you’re going to Ischia, this is the place to stay. We are so grateful to everyone there for making our stay in Ischia so wonderful and would love to come back!
