We stayed at the Borgo Solario in early summer 2017. We were there for a month; it would have been a couple of weeks longer, but sadly we had to leave early due to a family emergency back home. Our apartment was clean, comfortable and well-equipped; the only thing initially lacking was an oven, but our hosts generously bought a small one for us! There was a good wifi connection with enough range to be used outdoors, which made work very enjoyable under the large sunshade.||||The surroundings were stunning, with Lake Trasimere a short drive away and access to the motorway straightforward. The nearby village of Sanfatuccio has basic amenties (and a pizza place with a very unusual surprise - I won't spoil it but it's, er, "unique"), with several supermarkets in the beautiful town of Castiglione del Lago on the lakeside. Read moreLovely, lovely, lovely setting on a hill with great views of cypress-tree lined valleys and church steeples. We took an apartment with kitchen – spacious, nice, and newly furbished. Shower and bathroom were plenty large. Good Wifi. There is a table in front of the apartment and several other tables available on a terrace behind the building and at the pool area. The grounds are extensive and well kept. There is a path on the property that connects to other paths allowing for a 3 km hike. The paths pass a local agriturismo location that sells local products.
Views, tranquility, spacious room, places to relax outside, sunsets. Nothing

Read moreI am a regular visitor to the beautiful and enchanting provinces of Tuscany and Umbria. I discovered Borgo Solario some 6 years ago while searching for a quite place set in the heart of the Italian countryside. The complex is a detached rustic building set on the crest of a hill. It comprises of a number of neat self catering apartments, a large swimming pool, surrounding garden and, opened of recently, a lovely restaurant. The restaurant is glass-paned from wall to wall and overlooks the pool and the well cultivated meadows. The owners Sergio and Michelle are always there to lovingly tender the grounds and to the needs of their clients. I have been coming back to Borgo Solario year after year as I do not consider looking around for a better place to spend my holidays while in that...
