Hotel Des Alpes — Hotel in Castione della Presolana

After staying at the Hotel des Alpes in winter I decided to visit in summertime, the hotel was just as friendly and welcoming as in winter time but so nice to sit on the terrace with a cool drink and fantastic views down into the valley, and the hotel looking splendid with its beautiful flowers bursting from every balcony. The Hotel is nicely situated for a quiet get away yet close enough for the local shops and amenities, Lake Isio is about 40 minuets, the beautiful village of Clusone in the next valley and the mountains all around. Food was excellent and home cooked with fresh produce and a great choice for breakfast including bacon and egg. the rooms have been refitted with new modern furniture and double glassing but still retain there Italian charm. Our second visit here after a holiday as a family of four back in February 2020. The hotel is ideal for families with a short walk to the nearby slope at Donico, ski school, ski hire and restaurant bar for lunch snacks. The nearby resort of Monte Pora is also convenient for the more experienced skier. This time we visited as part of a bigger group of five adults and five children and had a great time. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, there is a games room to entertain the kids and the food is superb, particularly the homemade pasta dishes! The welcome and hospitality from Sergio and Giuliana is like a home from home, and Sergio is excellent at helping you sort out the logistics of the holiday....

From the moment we checked into Hotel Des Alpes, Sergio and his staff were helpful and accommodating. They organised a transfer to Monte Pora each day at a time that suited us, ski hire could be left in the hotel each evening which was very handy and staff were on hand for any queries or questions we had. The food was outstanding each evening and they also catered separate meals for one of our group who was gluten free. The hotel has a warm and welcoming bar for drinks in the evening and it also boasts a games room with table tennis and fussball table.
