We have just spent 7 days at Marina Di Venezia staying with Eurocamp. ||I will list my pros and cons.||||Cons (these are purely my opinions and observations)||||Mosquitos. These have featured in pretty much every review I have read and they are not really a fault of the site, more a fault of mother nature, but they had an impact on our stay none the less. I consider myself quite well travelled and have visited places notorious for them (Asia & South America), but never have I experienced them quite like this. We took insect repellent after sun, Osomos advanced mosquito cream, and Mozzipatches. They served little purpose. We all still got bitten. ||||Bikes, now I'm all for people riding bikes, but at times, it felt like we'd walked into the Tour De France. There were dozens of them children and adults alike riding them like Kamikaze pilots. If I had a euro for every time one of us nearly got hit, the holiday would have paid itself. Suggestion to site, maybe look at offering more segregation between bikes and pedestrians as some paths have no pavement.||||The miserable staff around the swimming pool, blowing their whistles every 2 seconds. My 11 year old some came to a grinding halt on a slide and had to bump shuffle the last bit down only to be told by a lifeguard that he was banned from using any of the slides again......I mean really!!!!||The evening entertainment was on very late too. 9:30pm it begins, which seems strange to me, seeing as there are so many little kids there. We often found that we had eaten, had a couple of drinks and an ice cream by 8-8:30pm, which then left an hour to kill. Unfortunately, there was never enough going on in that interim to keep us entertained, and by around 9pm, having gotten fed up with being mosquito fodder, we'd head back. ||||The last thing would be Eurocamp, the accommodation, even though it was a decent size, it was tired and run down. Leaking Aircon unit, bathroom locks that kept getting stuck and had to be opened from the outside with a screwdriver, overhead units with broken door latches that wouldn’t stay open and beds like mortuary slab||||The distance from the accommodation to the main area was quite the trek, too. Initially, it wasn’t much of a bother, but towards the end, the 20-minute round trip began to wear thin, especially in 34-degree heat. You couldn’t just “pop” out to get something from there.|||| ||||Now, onto the Pro’s|||| The site as a whole was spotlessly clean and well presented. The staff work tirelessly to maintain the high standards. They are forever cleaning the facilities or tidying up the undergrowth. The communal showers and changing facilities were especially immaculate.||||Ignoring the moody lifeguards, the pool area was brilliant, yet again, very clean. A massive variety of pools and slides. Even though it was exceptionally busy, it never felt too overcrowded by the pools. The wave pool was great, it had a gradual incline walk into the pool as it increased in depth, great place to chill or play until the hour mark when the waves start for 10 mins, my kids loved it. The Olympic sized pool was good if you wanted to do some lane swimming, and the aqua aerobics and aqua spin bikes were a great touch, too. The splash pool kept my children occupied for hours.||||The beach was by far and away the best highlight for me. So this is where the Eurocamp accommodations come good. They are situated by gate 7, which is the quietest part of the beach. Gorgeous sand, loads of space, beautiful tepid sea, and really reasonably priced water activities. We hired a pedalo for 1 hour for 14 euros, which I thought was a bargain. The inflatable assault course was 10 euros for 1 hour.||||The beach party with radio WOW we particularly enjoyed, the stage and set up was very impressive and it was a great mix of 90’s and noughties pop and dance.||||The Gelato ice cream which can be found in most bars/restaurants for around 2 euros per cone/pot, and it is gorgeous. Forget the Mister Whippy nonsense you get over here. This stuff is divine, and it comes in a wide variety of flavours, all of which are spot on and taste amazing.||||All said we had a great week here. ||||If I could offer any tip for people travelling by plane, with Eurocamp, you can not check in until 4 pm, and they are very stoic on that. So try to arrange your flight so that it coincides as close as possible with arriving to the site for around the 4pm mark. Unlike us, who got there around 10 am and had to occupy the next 6 hours, whilst very tried, in what was to be 39 degree heat that day. ||||Also, a massive thanks to the Irish family who donated their beach umbrellas, chairs, inflatables, and football on the day we...

Read moreBecause of Corona circumstances we decided to come here back then in 2021. We had such a good time so we came back gain this year 2022.
I always booked in the marina open, we did not really do the camping thing. The room and house facility fits perfectly to my requirements. Location is great too, over the street is the Vanin Restaurant, best restaurant in walking distance, there is a supermarket next to it. If you want to join evening entertainment, it’s quite a walking distance, better take a bike or kick board/scooter. The only annoyance is the amount of keys one has to carry around. There is a key for the garage door, garage side door, one for the house entrance and one for the room. You only get one set of all of them.
As I sleep on the fold-out-to-bed couch it’s hard to sleep for very long as daylight lights up the room dramatically already at 0700h. It would have been nice to have some curtain to bring some darkness into the living room.
Entering Marina di Venezia at all times one needs to show the wrist band. The entrance check personal turn into panic mode if they cannot see it immediately. It’s something you need to get used to.
I have not used most of the infrastructure because staying at the marina open, there was no need to. But out of curiosity I took the bike and sneaked into every corner of this place. Looks clean and safe. M2000 and Dog Camping site are like separate sides that can be accessed through access port and tunnel.
Leo playground, I hope they renovate this playground next. IMO it could use some love. And what about those stone table tennis tables? You cannot play seriously on stone tables. We need wooden tables. Moskitos are plague especially in the Leo playground.
The sea can be accessed through many ports and outside there are showers and sanitary buildings. At the beach, in the first year there were quite a lot of empty sun loungers. All the loungers there are for rental which costs between 14-16 Euros depending which row. On the second year, all were occupied at all times. The staff told me there are people renting the lounchers a year in advance. He checked which of the already booked loungers did not show up and gave it to us for rent. Basically cashing in two times.
The beach looks clean, it seems they take good care to make the beach look nice every day. Because sea water has a lot of dead seaweed and jellyfish that were washed up to the beach. Summer 2022 was very hot year and dead jellyfish was a common issue throughout the region were we stayed.
At the pool, many people already wrote enough about Aquamarine. I mostly agree to the complaints about opening hours. I also had the impression the water is not that clean in the wave basin. Dive in with goggles.
Last year there was always enough lounchers when you entered the pool area. One needs to pay extra for them. But this year, they were rented out astonishingly fast. When we arrived at 0930h nothing was left. But it wasn’t like people occupied them, half of them were empty and only the notorious Tuechli were on those benches. Which leaves only the tiny little gras stretch were you can put down your own Tuechli. It’s hard to get some shade here.
The animation team is great fun and always very friendly especially Jakobo/Tomas, they can talk like rapid fire. This year it was about sea life, organised from the dancing academy of Ana, Alfonso and Inma. Every week they come up with new ideas for the next show which is always amazing. It is also a big challenge to coordinate the many kids and orchestrate them. Noemi from the animation office was a great help and has an uncomplicated approach finding solutions. Ricardo und Maurizio from the junior club they are always positive and have great ideas for the kids. Big kudos to the animation team.
I hope you can take my critics positively to improve. We loved the time we spend here. I would have rated the camping with four stars but because of the animation team I have to give you the full five stars.
It was a great summer again. Hope to come back...
