Masseria Selvaggi — Hotel in Ceglie Messapica

This location was the one I was most excited about during my trip to Puglia. The location was picturesque and I totally shifted into relaxation mode. I did have a few issues with the venue though. It was cold in April and the heat in my accommodations was limited. I wore layers, a scarf and anything I had to keep warm. A lovely fireplace was in my room, but there was no wood or mention of using it. In the restaurant part of the venue they have a bar. It's stocked, but wine or alcohol was never offered for purchase or otherwise. Very disappointing especially when visiting Italy--come on now, people. We stayed in the new trulli and had a fantastic family holiday. The trulli was pleasantly cool compared to the outdoor heat. It's not huge but was fine for 2 adults and 2 children, and was beautifully furnished. The sheets were changed weekly and new towels provided after a few days. Breakfast is included in the price and was fantastic. A huge range of bread, cake, biscuits, croissants, meat, cheese and fruit - with something different every day. The setting of the masseria is beautiful - in the middle of the countryside and very peaceful. There is a large swimming pool which my children loved. The masseria is only a short drive to lots of beautiful historic hilltop towns which come alive in the evening. I would highly recommend...

Masseria Selvaggi is a cosy farm made in the typical Trulli architecture. The Trullis are large, well furnished and offer a charming stay in a very typical local architecture. ||All the staff, starting from the owner and manager, mister Gregorio, is very kind and helpful, without being overwhelming. ||Breakfast was delicious, varied (although mainly sweet, after Italian tradition) and abundant.
