Agriturismo Cascina Veja — Hotel in Chiusa di Pesio

My wife and I spent four lovely nights at Cascina Veja earlier this month. We were warmly greeted by owner Massimiliano, who is a qualified chef and also works endlessly on his farm - handling his crops, sheep and pigs.||||Our room and bed were perfectly clean and large, with a spacious bathroom. It also enjoyed a terrace and widows with lovely views of the woods and fields.||||Only sounds were that of water cascading through nearby stream and the occasional sheep bleating. ||||The farmhouse is situated just off a country road, surrounded by serene woods and fields. It is also located about two kilometres from the Marguareis Natural Park. This area, which has spectacular views of the Alpi Marittime, is ideal for walking, trekking, mountain biking or just relaxing.||||Chiusa del Peso is also just a 25 min drive from the medieval and lovely small town of Cuneo.||||Cascina Veja, apart from stocking a very good choice of wines, offers excellent regional food, all expertly prepared by Massimiliano. We were entertained daily by different mouthwatering dishes for dinner. He also produces excellent salamis from his own stocks.||||We also met Massimiliano's sweet young daughter who sometimes gave a hand in the kitchen - both are sincerely welcoming, helpful and made us feel at home.||||Our stay in June was memorable and I fully recommend this Agriturismo. We spent an amazing short holiday at Cascina Veja last weekend. We were served with an exceptional breakfast (cheese, ham, eggs, Italian pie, homemade bread and jam, and of course - a lot of tasty Italian coffee) and also tried half board offer which exceeded all of our expectations (not only it is value for money but also excellent!). As the vast majority of the products they use are their own cultivation, everything is fresh and tastes amazing. Cycling and/or hiking are within easy reach - Cascina Veja is located in nature, next to the beautiful national park. Also, it's possible to rent an e-bike in Cascina Veja so it's very convenient if you want to spend time doing sports. This place is a MUST if you want to experience something both relaxing and entertaining. P.S. I offer to take the opportunity and not to forget to buy their product before leaving. We spent close to a week at Cassina Veja this May. It's beautiful location allowed us to visit nearby valleys, take beautiful hikes, see the sights in old villages and nearby Cuneo without having to drive long distances. For us it was perfect and each evening when we came home we said we will have to come back because there was never enough time to see and do all the area had to offer. Our room, with a shaded veranda was roomy, clean and extremely comfortable. We chose to have our evening meals at Cassina Veja and were treated to excellent, plentiful, and well cooked dinners complete with wine. Each dinner included a special dish from the area. The owners and staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and well cared for, including insistenting on accompanying us to the hospital in Cuneo to have an injured knee treated. We will...
