Positives: Good sized room with modern bathroom (exc.the hairdryer). Clean throughout. Good variety of food at mealtimes. Impressive spa zone.||Negatives (for me): Check in, quite abrupt and had decisions to make immediately on our dinner choice before we could even put our bags down . Wouldve preferred to have done this 'con calma' later.. | Too many extra charges: wifi in room 5€, towels 5€, charge for cot in room €10 per night. I have stayed in 3 star hotels that offer these services freely.|The heated towel rail would only be on if the room was a certain temperature, so we had damp towels and robes most of the time. The hairdryer in the room was the worst thing, I have long hair and it took me forever to dry it well, burning my hand in the process. Take your own hairdryer if you have long hair! The safe didnt work and the number given in the info pack in the room to call reception was not updated. I found the spring mattress to be quite uncomfortable.|109 was quite a noisy room, you could hear noises coming from both inside and out the church bells, dogs barking and construction noises (which I get enough of at home!) I suggest asking for a room on the top floor perhaps at the back of the hotel away from the road and church.|The food was ok, quantity more than quality and the service was efficient but impersonal. Breakfast was lovely, great choice but slowed down a lot by the fact you have to prepare your own drinks. It also gives a more personal touch to have your drinks brought to you, giving the opportunity for staff to get to know their guests. We felt a little anonymous in that respect with the staff-guest relations. It seemed that it was the 'older generation' management who made some effort to speak to guests briefly, smile and the younger staff were more abrupt and...
Read moreWe loved this hotel - it was rebuilt to the highest standards 5 years ago yet it fits perfectly into the mountain village of Brusago next to the church. The spa is really well designed and we were lucky to have it almost to ourselves. The food was superb - breakfast was a treat with lots of organic cereals and yoghurt, dinner was excellent too and there was even a mid afternoon merenda which was just right for our late lunch when we got back from our excursions up the mountain. The service was excellent and we felt that there was a happy mix of generations running the hotel which made it modern and traditional at the same time. Hope to...
Read moreWe went here for the second time because the food is so amazing and the rooms are nice. But now it was even better than last time. Last time I complained about the sauna only being open for a few hours, but we didn’t know there was an amazing indoor sauna as well. Probably because the staff at the spa didn’t really speak English. Now we found it, everything was amazing. I guess it would be nice if the spa would also be open in the morning, because it gets a bit busy. I think this hotel offers a lot that more expensive luxury hotels don’t even offer. And everyone is relaxed and they are so accommodating, really hard to find these days in...
