We had an awesome stay, it could hardy have been any better.
The great service started already before our stay: The owner was to kind as to pick up our luggage from a ferry at a certain time a day before check in in Peschiera. This allowed us to continue our train trip and go hiking on the "main land". We saved a lot of time and trouble.
Once we returned, check-in was smooth and we got a lot of useful information, for example restaurant, "beach", store and supermarket recommendations. They also made dinner table reservations for us which was very helpful. We also got cooled water which we welcomed after the walk (we declined the possibility of a pick-up)
The comfort room was fantastic: spacious, fantastic views (3 windows facing the lake in different directions), AC was sufficient despite outside temperature well above 30°C. Only the bathroom was a bit narrow but still not cramped as it was pretty long. Shower, toilet, everything perfect. Terasse on the roof offered nice views as well.
Breakfast offered a wide choice of options (3 types of cheese, salame, ham), melon, pineapple, 2 cakes, cookies, bread rolls, spreads, juices, water... Tea, coffee and eggs were available to order. We sat once in the restaurant and once in the wintergarden style terasse behind the house (there is another one on the front). We were more than happy!
The location is perfect: Away from Peschiera thus calm and remote as one likes to be on an island, yet close due to hourly busses running still into the night. Cure and the top of the island were within walking distance (less than one hour). A calm beach (stones) was within 15-30min walk.
We were sooooooo happy we did not stay in Peschiera where many options are available but here.
Check-out was smooth as well. We stored our luggage for a few hours, went to the beach for a last swim and the big regret that we did not stay longer. Then the owner drove us to Peschiera and the ferry to Iseo - which we did not like after the relaxing stay on the island.
We would book again...
Read morePaulo his family and staff were wonderful and made our 4 night stay here very welcoming and comfortable. As other reviews mention Paulo met us from the ferry and brought us to his hotel providing much useful information as he did so and also returned us and our luggage when we left, all included in the price of our bed and breakfast price. Our room was comfortable and if you like to sleep with your window open at night then you should request a lake view room as they are facing away from the road and the waspish sound of the many mopeds that cavort around the island.and randomly on throughout the night. With the double glazed windows shut and the hefty roller shutters down then sound not a problem on the side facing the road and as no light let in very easy to over sleep in the morning! Breakfast choice excellant and as much as you want including fantastic home made cake selection to go with great coffee. The restauarant next door provides the thinnest most wonderful pizzas (huge choice) on a quite terrace over looking lake, above is a bar where we had pre meal drinks again with those marvellous views. There is a first floor terrace with sunloungers and seats facing the lake and also the roof of the hotel serves as a sun deck and viewpoint. Hopefully we will...
Read moreIf you are planning your first trip to Monte Isola, this wonderful hotel managed by Paolo and his wife Eva should be one of your first choices! ||||Paolo has been living on the island for his whole life and is very popular among the locals for his gentleness and readiness to support. Literally, the hosts were ready to meet all our demands and expectations - for example, when I was running out of the diapers for my younger daughter they got them delivered to our room the very same evening. ||||Also worth mentioning are the breathtaking Lake Iseo views from the room and from the huge terraces. After putting my kids to bed, I was running there every night to enjoy a couple of hours just watching the water on my own. ||||The room was perfectly cleaned every morning, and all the COVID precautions were duly in place for our whole stay. I wish we could have stayed longer than a week - this was the first time (after quite a while) when I seriously did not want to get back home after the holidays 🙂 ||||To make the long story short: strongly...
