We stayed at the Hotel des Alpes from 31 December 2018 to 4 January 2019. There was my family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children) and our friends (2 adults and 2 children). I was so impressed with the reviews of this hotel and I was not disappointed. From the first welcome from Fausta and Gianfranco, we knew we had found somewhere special. My family of 6 had two rooms. They do not appear to have any interconnecting rooms but that didn't matter. We had one audit and 2 children in each room. The hotel is lovely with a homely feel. It is old fashioned but very clean and all staff were so warm and friendly. We were given a lovely welcome drink and snacks on arrival and a car was sent from the ski school to bring us to the slopes (it is only about 5-8 mins walk away thou). Our first meal in the hotel was a feast! It was the gala NYE dinner and was absolutely fabulous. We paid 40 euro per adult for this meal on top of the half board rate. Super value! The children all eat together downstairs and were all happy. They joined us later in the evening. There was a band playing, prosecco at midnight, flowers for the ladies and we watched fireworks from the balcony. A perfect new year's eve! Breakfast was lovely and we all enjoyed our dinners each evening. We had an absolutely wonderful stay here and hope to...
Read moreHotel des Alpes is a gem! ||You may not have heard of Foppolo before, but it's well worth a visit if you're a beginner/intermediate skier. I had never skied before and I was looking for an affordable place to learn - my mum and I couldn't have picked a more perfect place. ||||The hotel is family run, and they make you feel like part of the family, going out of their way to make you feel at home. It's not modern, but everything is spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and good facilities. Their best feature is their food: my mum has a tiny appetite but even she polished off the generous helpings of a 3 course meal every night we were there! Truly delicious authentic Italian cuisine every night without fail. ||||They also helped us to organise with the ski school to hire gear (a discount is offered to guests from hotel des alpes) and arrange lessons. The nearby slopes were perfect for a beginner, and because they connect with Carona there is more to offer for those more advanced. ||||The hotel is family friendly, central and easy to get to (although an airport transfer is pricey we managed without a car), the kind of place you'll go back to...
Read moreAway from the crowds of Rome and Venice we spent three tranquil nights at this hotel this summer which is great in every way. The owners Fausta and Gianfranco are so warm & welcoming and they made us feel like most at home. The hotel is immaculate, the structure is solid and beautiful artworks hang everywhere for your eyes to feast upon and your hearts to delight in. Dinner is an event, local specialities are on offer over 3 courses and are absolutely irresistible. Children have plenty of areas to spread themselves around and Fausta and Gianfranco seem to understand and adore children. For those visiting over summer, there are plenty of walks around the foothills to lose oneself into. Crystal clear springs and ravines are a plenty and the best memory of our children was to play in the rivers for hours in end. ||Our experience was simply unforgettable and we have vowed to return in a...
