Hotel Riva Sport & Wellness — Hotel in Comunità montana della valle Camonica

This is a little hidden gem 5 kilometres from Ponte di Legno. The hotel is situated in Vione, 1.2km up the hill from the main road (and the public bus stop). The closest lifts are in Temu', around 2 km from the hotel. ||This hotel has just opened in November 2016 after a complete renovation. Everything is new, stylish, made in a nice modern mountain style, lots of attention to details, clean and cosy. Rooms are equipped in a rather basic way (mine had a double bed, a rack for clothes, a couple of chairs, a TV and a tea set), but again - all you need is there. The bathroom was of the adequate size, with basic toiletries (shampoo/shower gel), a well functioning hairdryer, and soft white towels. Room/water temperature was good. ||The little wellness centre downstairs is a highlight - it only has a sauna and a Jacuzzi (a very good one, by the way), in addition to 5 long chairs, but it is very cosy and nice. There are windows with the views to a little terrace and it's just great for relaxation. For such a small hotel a wellness area is a real treat! Another great thing - excellent quality tea/tisane in the wellness.||Breakfasts were also very good - I was surprised to be asked at arrival what I would like and I got it (plain white yoghurt)! In addition there were fresh (excellent!) brioches, meat and cheese cuts, some pies, fruit etc. The atmosphere at breakfast with the fireplace on is close to magical. Coffee/tea (again - excellent quality, not the supermarket liptons) comes from the bar and not the "chemical producing" machine, like in so many other hotels. The only thing I missed at breakfast - dark/full grain bread and some healthy/unsugared cereals, seeds, etc. BUT I did not ask for that :)!||Generally, I loved the idea that the hotel is sports oriented - it even has a small fitness room. They start serving breakfast early, which is great for skiing/sport addicts. The ski deposit is big and spacious, has a heated ski boot holder. ||Finally, the family managing the hotel: they are great. They went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Although it takes only 10-12 min to go up/down the hill to the shuttle bus stop, they kept offering me lifts, which I very much appreciated. On the last evening when my group left and I stayed alone at the hotel they went down and picked me a pizza from the restaurant on the main road. By the way, the hotel serves no dinner, but it has a bar and they make you a cheese/meat platter, which is great as well. ||I give it a rating of 4, because it's not a super chic hotel, a little bit far out for those without a car... otherwise it's really great, as I mentioned - the decoration, the wellness, the breakfast+bar and the Riva family are 5 stars. Cari amici,||||in questa struttura abbiamo soggiornato 3 notti con quindi 3 colazioni e l'utilizzo della spa per due volte.||Rileggendo i commenti di chi ci ha preceduto ci siamo trovati sotto diversi punti di vista ma non con tutto. In sintesi la struttura (gestita da tre fratelli) è carina e accogliente ma la stanza senza mobilio rimane un po' un problema soprattutto se il pernottamento è lungo (noi, per tre notti, non abbiamo neppure disfatto le valige...anche perché non avremmo saputo dove mettere la nostra roba!). Quindi stanza carina ma con le precisazione di cui sopra. Sulla spa siamo rimasti soddisfatti e il fatto che è prenotabile singolarmente per un ora è la logica da portare avanti in questo momento di pandemia. La colazione discreta quasi buona...qualche cosa sarebbe migliorabile ma comunque più che soddisfacente. Insomma, visto anche il prezzo pagato direi un soggiorno di tre notti generalmente positivo e piacevole. Perché il nostro titolo? Senza fare nome ci siamo trovati bene con due dei tre fratelli mentre con uno non abbiamo avuto nessuna sintonia. Un solo esempio: abbiamo chiesto al "fratello sbagliato" se, prima di prenotare la SPA potevamo vederla. Risposta: "No!" Perché chiediamo? "Non è possibile!". Ovviamente non perché c'erano altri clienti...non si poteva e basta! Viste che quella non è stata l'unica situazione di scarsa affinità ci hanno abbastanza divertito, vedendo appunto le altre recensioni, come siamo passati dal non capire gli apprezzamenti a condividerli. Il segreto è trovare i due...

A great place to stay near Ponte di Legno. Lovely design, great room, superb breakfast and a jacuzzi/sauna place downstairs thrown in. Room for bikes, skis and all the equipment you may need for an active weekend. Clean, recently renovated with very good taste: simple,fresh & comfy. Welcoming owners who inherited the place from grandmother and brought it to a totally new level. It's something new, a new concept: an activity hotel....
