It was a very late booking for us, so we booked directly to avoid any confusion regarding our room type. The Manager was extremely helpful whilst booking, to ensure that we were completely satisfied with what was booked. ||Hotel Maxi, was a good family run 3 star hotel with 30 rooms. It had a relaxed friendly atmosphere, with helpful staff. ||Our room had fantastic views overlooking the pool and Lake Garda, it did not have air conditioning and to be honest this did not matter, as the room was on the 1st floor which was cooler with a nice breeze and double doors you could open. Our balcony was shaded later in the day and had shutters if required for when the sun was on the opposite side of the lake. ||Hotel Maxi was in a great location, North West of Lake Garda, elevated from the Lake, with amazing views, approx 2km from Limone. A car is defintely recommended if you would like to get out and enjoy the wonderful surroundings and Lake Garda. There are limited bus services. There are a number of good italian restuarants serving local food, within a very short drive of the hotel.||Breakfast was continental with plenty of choice, which you can enjoy on the Hotel's veranda, which overlooks the Lake, with wonderful views. We arrived at this hotel after a long motorcycle journey with a booking and receipt for a room with balcony/lake view that had been made months before. We ended up in a room at the back of the hotel with a hillside view through headheight windows. The day we arrived it was a bank holiday in Italy and Germany. I'll leave it to the readers own imagination as to why we didn't get a room with a balcony/lakeview.The hotel managements expanantion was that they had been told to supply an ordinary double room. In fact the managers view was very unsympathetic and whilst we were discussing my complaint he kept answering the telephone which I found downright rude. The hotel does have a fantastic view of the lake becasue it is so far up the hillside and as such is a long way from the lakeside where all the restaurants...

Hotel Maxi. 10-17 September 2005. Weather was Good. Daytime temperatures; 22-28C. English is spoken by two members of staff.|||Hotel is located 2.5 Kilometres from Limone on the road up to Vesio. Limited Bus service. Car Hire recommended.|||Rooms are of a good standard. Clean and well presented. Furnishing – Twin Pine beds, Wardrobe, Bedside cabinets, Small table and two chairs. Good sized En-suite.|||The standard Continental Buffet style Breakfast is taken on the balcony overlooking the lake; Served between 8:00 and 10:00 am. Well presented, plenty available. Good|| |Dinner is not served at the Hotel. Only a limited Snack type menu is available till 9:45pm, pizza etc. Limited options for meals local to the Hotel. Limone has plenty to offer.
