I stayed at the Panorama from 10 Dec- 18 Dec 2013 and was attending the World University Games. This is a great hotel with a sporting theme- cycle and ski sport memorabilia are found in the entrance and part of the lounge. There is an excellent ski room and cycle and ski hire.||There was little natural snow in early December but huge efforts were made to construct the race course at Lago di Tesero and the Marcialonga with artificial snow. The Marcialonga cross-country ski track could be reached in 6 minutes and the stadium at Lago di Tesero in about 10 minutes at a jog. There are good bus connections up and down the valley.||I looked forward to all the meals at the Panorama which was brilliant and simple food. As a veggie the staff went out their way to cater for me- usually asking what I would like to have prepared! I usually took a packed lunch and avoided a filling 4 course lunch.||The Panorama staff were all friendly, helpful and efficient. The family owners were keen to do their best for their guests. This part of the Dolomites is often host to large numbers of athletes and coaches and is well practiced as ||My room (for one) was small but very clean and comfortable. I also enjoyed the fitness room and runs around Panchia, a charming village in a beautiful setting.||In short, I loved staying at the Panorama and wholeheartedly...
Read moreRarely am I so impressed with the way a business is run. Just got back from a trip with my husband's mountain biking group. It was fabulous. The hotel was fabulous. Most of all the service at the hotel, an inviting, family-run 3-star inn, with everything a traveler needs -including Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and overnight laundry service. It is what well-run small enterprises are all about - customer service is paramount and the sense of pride is evident in everything they do. Although I was under the weather, the food was great, fresh and plentiful- both Italian and the Tyrolean dishes. ||The guys say that the well planned and well guided bike tours were phenomenal (by the hotel staff). The staff also helped us biking widows plan our excursions in the area. Pro-activity, experience and friendliness touches everything they do. The only weak point is the extremely temperamental WiFi. Maybe it's a "nestled between the mountains" thing. Otherwise -...
Read moreI went with a group of 52 people (46 students & 6 staff) for five nights in February 2015. All the rooms are twin beds. A minority of the rooms had a door through to a shared bathroom and then doors through to the twin bed rooms. Those rooms on the front and side had balconies with great views along the valley. The rooms at the back may have balconies too but I didn't look. The food was mainly variations on pasta but it was very good and the bar area is relaxing. This was popular with the students as this is the only area where the wi-fi is available. A great place to stay in a stunning location, I would gladly go back there in the summer and compare it to the...
