I stayed at this hotel for a week in February 2022 with 6 of my friends for a Skiing holiday. Before arriving at the hotel we were in regular contact with the team at Hotel Corona to request adjustments to our booking, clarify questions etc…and they were always very quick at replying and were very helpful. ||The Rooms:|We had two twin rooms and one triple/family room. The rooms were basic but had everything you needed. Rooms were very warm but did have windows to open if you wanted. They were thoroughly cleaned daily and towels replaced. Soap and shampoo was also provided. Tip - we found there were a lack of plugs in the rooms so bringing an extension plug would be recommended.||The Breakfast:|Overall, breakfast was great and prepared us for the day ahead. Things on offer included cereal, breads, jams, pastries, choice of eggs made to order, meat and cheese selection and yogurts. They also had a free-from section for those with dietary requirements. Drinks included water, various coffees and teas, and fruit juices. Service was brilliant and we were always greeted as soon as we walked in. ||The Location: |As we were there to ski, it was a perfect location to visit Socrepes Ski Area each day. The Number 3 bus stops were directly outside the hotel and took us no more than 5mins to get to the slopes each day. The bus is also included in the price of the ski pass. Each evening, we walked the short 5-10 min journey into the town center where you can find ample restaurants and places to drink.||The Ski Facilities: |Hotel Corona does have a room to store ski equipment with an entrance directly from outside making it easy to access. The room is not heated and therefore our equipment was cold in the mornings. Socrepes do have lockers at the slopes where you can store your equipment overnight for a very reasonable price and stopped us from having to carry our equipment on the bus each day. The hotel recommended a ski rental shop with 10% discount which we used and would use again - it was very efficient process and reasonable prices. ||The Service:|We had amazing service from most of the hotel staff. Whenever we had a question or request, they would do their best to help us - even staying after their shift had ended to make sure everything was sorted. I am sorry we didn’t get the names of all the individuals that went above and beyond but I know the team will know who I am talking about when I say the young gentleman who seemed to work 24/7 and Frederica. Unfortunately, the only negative experience we had was with the member of staff on night duty. He wasn’t particularly welcoming and getting a drink at the bar after 10pm wasn’t possible, despite daytime staff saying it was always open.||Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel if I was in the area again and would recommend...
Read moreWe originally booked for 2 nights in a Superior room but then requested an extra night. The owners of the hotel extended our stay and explained they upgraded us to a triple room with balcony to provide us more room with our 2 year old. When we viewed the room it was definitely not to the superior standard that I had wanted to book according to the pictures on their website. They then moved us to the superior triple room which was slightly better but the bathroom was not renovated as shown in the pictures on their website. The rooms also don't provide any other amenities such as a kettle or mini fridge but they did allow us to keep some things in their kitchen fridge. Other than the room being a little disappointing the views are incredible and the hotel is owned and run by 1 family who were really lovely and more than helpful when we had any queries. Breakfast was basic but enough options to choose from. Parking is street parking right next to the hotel but can get very busy. Location is good, and about 10-15 minute walk to the...
Read moreWe stayed two nights at the Dependance Hotel Corona. There are plus points and minus points about the hotel.||||+ points||1. The room had quaint wooden panelling with faded charm.||2. The balcony had a small view onto the spectacular Dolomites.||3. The breakfast (taken at the adjacent Corona Hotel) was good and plentiful.||4. The room was quiet although located on a busy road.||5. The location of the hotel was reasonably convenient for both the centre of Cortina and for one of the cable car stations.||||- points||1. The room was in serious need of refurbishment, especially the furniture and the bathroom. (In particular, the mirror was in a very poor state.)||2. The hotel had a musty smell in the common areas.||3. The staff at the hotel were not at all helpful (and quite rude at one point). The breakfast staff were an exception - they were welcoming and efficient.||4. The TV was very small and was nearly impossible to watch...
