Our stay at Hotel Cortina in Cortina d'Ampezzo was absolutely wonderful. This beautiful hotel perfectly combines elegant comfort with authentic mountain hospitality, and we couldn't have been more impressed.||Breathtaking Mountain Views:The location and views are simply stunning. Waking up to panoramic vistas of the Dolomites was a daily highlight - the mountains are so spectacular and the hotel makes the most of its incredible setting. Whether you're relaxing in your room, enjoying the spa, or having breakfast, those views are always there to take your breath away.||Excellent Accommodation:Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and immaculately clean. The standout feature was the huge bathroom - it felt like a luxury spa in itself! Having plenty of space to spread out and relax made such a difference. The attention to detail in the room design and the quality of furnishings really elevated the experience.||Thoughtful Touches:The complimentary afternoon snacks were a lovely surprise and much appreciated after a day exploring the mountains. It's these thoughtful gestures that show a hotel truly cares about their guests' comfort and experience. Perfect for refueling before dinner or simply enjoying a quiet moment.||Outstanding Wellness Facilities:The sauna and gym area were both excellent - well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed. The sauna was perfect for relaxing tired muscles after hiking, and the gym had everything needed for a proper workout. Read moreVery polite reception, Luciana made us feel better on our long trip arrival offering warm drinks. We got the 5 Torri suite for our family with 2 little kids. The room is very comfortable, Breathtaking Mountains view. Spotless clean and the bed, pillows and linens super comfortable for my chronic back pain, what I appreciate after a long day traveling. There’s a kids club room downstairs which, unfortunately, the age to leave the kids with the super nice lady starts at 4yo and our kids are just a bit under. The hotel doesn’t offer babysitting Staff (what would definitely be amazing) but Luciana put me in contact with Maria and she came to the hotel to play with ours so we could go skiing (or at least trying LOL). Maria was AMAZING with our kiddos, so I am grateful for the referral from the front desk. We didn’t have the chance to use the other amenities from spa for the same reason (lack of babysitting staff). We used the pool for about one hour and wow, that was amazing. Even the view from the indoor pool was great. Everything clean and comfortable. The lady that was taking care of that area wasn’t so polite to my husband though… he came to find us at the pool and she followed him on a very unfriendly manner even back to the bar, until he said our room number then she chilled out it he was really upset about it so I believe some training about approaching guests would be helpful. The restaurant dinner menu was spectacular, beyond our expectations. We got 3/4 board and didn’t have any afternoon snacks since we were always out of the hotel for the day but Breakfast and dinner there are worth it. The location is perfect for skiing and there’s parking lot and ski rental available what is very convenient. I totally recommend this hotel and appreciate the staff...
Read moreFirst of all, Hotel Tofana offers cozy rooms with a beautiful view of the Dolomites. Upon arrival, we even received a free room upgrade, which was a very nice gesture. The rooms are cleaned daily, warm, and decorated with a lot of wood, which makes them feel very comfortable. A big plus is the spa area – with a variety of facilities and sauna sessions.
Breakfast, however, I would describe as average and monotonous, with a rather limited selection – this is definitely the area that needs the most improvement. On the other hand, the dishes we ordered for dinner were very good and fresh. Honestly, judging by the breakfasts, we didn’t expect such a high quality meal, so this was a pleasant surprise.
The staff are friendly and smiling, which makes the stay more enjoyable. The beds are large and comfortable, there are plenty of power outlets for charging, fairly large TVs, and a big parking area.
On the negative side, one thing I really didn’t understand was the air conditioning. At first, I thought the controller was broken, but after asking at reception, I was told that this is how it’s supposed to be – if the room is too warm, we should “ventilate by opening the windows.” I understand this might be a healthy recommendation, but honestly? In a 5-star hotel, I expect to be able to adjust the room temperature myself. Both my wife and I were really surprised by this.
Another drawback is the location right next to a very busy road, and Cortina itself, while undeniably beautiful, is extremely crowded.
Despite these inconveniences, I still believe the hotel is worth recommending. Once they improve the breakfasts (and there is plenty of space to expand the offer), it will be...
