Lajadira — Hotel in Cortina d'Ampezzo

Room and food is good. However, the service can be improved greatly.

This is a 4⭐️hotel. Firstly, they did not make up our room after the first night despite us reminded them before departure for the day. The cleaners were sincere saying that we put the room service tag on the door thus she didn’t dare to enter the room. That’s okay then.

We walked to the bar and purchase drinks and dessert and brought it back to our room by ourselves, except the tiramisu as the waiter said he needed some time to prepare. And he offered to bring into our room with no extra charges. Also, we have asked and assured multiple times that we will not be charged a room service as we walked to the bar to make order and brought it back ourselves except the tiramisu where he said he needed some time to prepare. The waiter is from Kyrgyzstan.

When we checked out the next day, we were charged with room service. It was really disappointed. We felt like all the service staff were lying to us despite them welcoming us in great smile. And worst, they can’t do refund to our credit card, that’s the excuse. My small 250ml orange juice end up with a bill of 12euros with self service.

Advice: avoid this hotel at all cost, not pleasant stay at all with their service. Otherwise, food and room...

Our room was situated on the top floor of the new building, so the view of the mountains was only partialy obstructed by the nearby older part of the hotel. It was comfortably furnished and spacious. I especially appreciated 3 huge wardrobes and enough bathroom counter space to use for all our toiletries, clothes, siutcases. The towels were changed every day and bedsheets every second. A bit too excessive practice from environmental point of view but enjoyable on a holiday. Hotel spa is open from 15:00 to 20:00. However, kids are allowed only until 18:00. Breakfast was served from 7:30 - early enough to enable us to set out on our hiking trips. The buffet provided large selection of sweet, savoury, warm, cold and healthy items. Highlight of the day was always the dinner, which was always delicious. Apart from amazing pasta, fresh home made desserts were served every night. :) Hotel staff was always very polite and helpful. This hotel is suffering from a raw sewage backup smell that has prevented me from opening a door or window. It has permeated my entire floor. It also has a significant propane leak which is noxious and dangerous. The room ventilation does not work. I complained to management each day from my first day. They said my room was non refundable no matter what the problem is. They haven't corrected either problem and wouldn't let me out of my reservation even though I told them I am severely asthmatic. My 2 friends have experienced the same issue with their rooms. There is also a construction site next door.
