Nestled amidst nature's embrace, we discovered a mountain retreat that surpassed all expectations. This hidden gem offered a tranquil and cozy atmosphere, accompanied by impeccable service, delectable cuisine, and a breathtaking view that left us in awe.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serenity and charm of the surroundings. The retreat exuded a warm and inviting ambiance, with its rustic decor, crackling fireplaces, and comfortable seating areas. It was a haven of coziness, inviting guests to relax and unwind in the lap of nature. The attention to detail in creating an atmosphere that radiated warmth and tranquility was truly commendable.

The service at this mountain retreat was nothing short of exceptional. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay. We stayed here as a group of 7 on a climbing trip for a week in September. The location could not be better for accessing the great climbing at the nearby Cinque Torri, the views of this from the Rifugio are quite breathtaking. Stunning setting accessible by chair lift, 4x4 or a 30 minute walk up from a nearby rifugio with parking (not ideal if you have a lot of bags - recommend parking at the bottom of the chairlift and taking the bags up that way!).|We were in an 8 bunk bed dorm so had one bed free, the room was pretty small and when all of us were in there it was not easy to move around but for our needs it sufficed. This is a rifugio and not a 5star hotel! There are only 3 showers for the entire place so when it is busy it can be a waiting game and in some cases the bathrooms looked like a tidal wave had hit (more so due to inconsiderate travellers using the bathroom before - it is quite possible to shower and use the bathroom without leaving a huge mess but be prepared!)|The half board option meant a satisfactory continental breakfast in the morning (we also made lunch sandwiches from the items there) and a 3 course evening meal. The food was FANTASTIC! Each evening meal was absolutely brilliant, tasty, plentiful and varied. Just what we needed after a long days climbing and via ferrata etc. One tip, bring your own drinking water, they charge 4 Euros for a bottle up here and the bathroom tap water is NOT suitable to drink (made me ill on 2 occasions but they do have signs up to say not to drink it which I saw only after filling my camelbak on day 1)||Sadly the hot tub was not in operation during our stay but I would not hesitate to stay here again, would maybe opt for a different room with a little more space but otherwise we were...

We stayed here overnight during a hiking trip but were unfortunately disappointed with the accommodation standards and service.

We’ve stayed in many mountain huts and alpine rifugios in Switzerland, France, and Italy, and are used to basic conditions – but this hut is in serious need of renovation, especially the bathrooms and bedrooms.

Cleanliness was poor: the toilet and shower areas were not properly cleaned, and there was visible mold in the shower room. The drainage didn’t work, and the shower water was far too hot with no way to adjust the temperature.

Noise during the night: quiet hours from 22:00–07:00 were respected by the guests, but not by the staff, who continued to serve and talk loudly in the restaurant well past 11 p.m. There’s no door between the restaurant and the sleeping area, so the noise was very disruptive. We brought this up several times, but nothing changed.

Accommodation: our private room was worn and in need of maintenance. Service: some of the staff were kind and helpful, others less so. The overall experience felt inconsistent. View: absolutely stunning – the highlight of the visit.

In summary: the location is beautiful, and the restaurant seems to be popular with day visitors. But for overnight guests, the overall experience was let down by the noise, hygiene, and...

The worst dining experience in Italy terrible service and disappointing food I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience deserves to be shared. The staff were extremely unfriendly and visibly irritated throughout our visit. They ignored us, told us to “wait” without any explanation, and continued chatting among themselves while avoiding any effort to serve us. Despite the restaurant not being busy, they refused to take our order for a long time. What was more disturbing was the discriminatory behavior I witnessed. The staff raised their voices at Asian customers while responding kindly and politely to white tourists in the exact same situation. It was shocking and deeply upsetting. As for the food: the steak was burnt and had a bad odor — completely inedible. The pasta was flavorless, tasting only of flour. The only thing remotely acceptable was the hot dog. It’s incredibly disappointing to have such a negative experience in such a beautiful location. This place offered the worst service and food I’ve encountered in Italy. I strongly advise others to avoid it.

Location was amazing! The views are great. The rooms are claustrophobic and crammed, but just try not to hang out in them. The dinner has the best venison mushroom pasta I've ever had. (And I'm not usually a venison fan.) But just delicious. Love that the breakfast has real espresso drinks included. The showers are a mess, they kind of drain all over the bathroom and you have to pay for each shower. Oh well, hopefully helps people not waste water. There were some weird extra charges for like 40 euro on my sister's card after we left that we could never figure out, so she's been emailing to try to fix that. We paid cash for the wine and extra croissant before dinner. Overall, really good experience and great location. This is a BIG place though and doesn't quite have a "family run" vibe. But good chefs! Not my personal fav, but def not the worst on AV1.

COME ARRIVARE AL Rif SCOIATTOLI IN ESTATE: Impostare navigatore sulla BAITA BAI DE DONES. Parcheggiare nell'ampio parcheggio gratuito.
