La Corte Dei Papi is an elegant converted family farmhouse located near Cortona. David, the owner was so kind and gracious. He treated you like he was inviting you into his home, which is exactly what he was doing. The farmhouse has been owned by his family for generations. We are so thankful that he has opened it up to guest. The grounds are lovely. David's mother keeps up the beautiful gardens. The pool and outside breakfast area were very nice.

Our initial impression when we entered the room was that it was dark. The shutters (yes shutters) were closed and the drapes and bed spread were heavy and dark. However, when the shutters were opened and the top bed spread was removed, it was much brighter. The room was decorated with old (or old looking), but elegant Italian furniture that drew you back in time. The room our travel agent reserved was fairly small. We would have definitely booked the larger room or one of the detached cottages if we had made the reservations on our own.

David's staff was terrific. They were very kind and helpful. They booked a private cooking class with Matteo Sciarri, owner and chef at Restaurant Ambrosia which was in the hill town of Cortona. What a great experience! In addition, they booked an all day wine tour that included visits to three wineries in Montepulciano and Montalcino. Another great day; and, our driver, Albino was adorable.

They served a terrific buffet style breakfast each morning that included a wide selection of pastries, meat, cheese, freshly baked bread, etc. We ate by gardens and pool. It was a lovely setting and the wait staff was terrific.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night. It was one of the best dinners on our trip. David served his family produced Prosecco and Nobile di Montepulciano. Both were terrific. My wife thought the Prosecco was the best she had ever tasted. We ordered bottles of the Nobile and Prosecco to be shipped home. We are still enjoying them at home and it brings back warm memories of David and the hotel.

I highly recommend that you stay at the the La Corte Dei Papi hotel and enjoy the charm and elegance of this Tuscan...

Words can hardly do justice to how magical our wedding experience was at this venue. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found somewhere truly special. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with immaculate grounds that feel like they’ve been plucked straight from a fairytale. Every room is gorgeous, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with five-star amenities that made all of our guests feel pampered and at home. We rented out the entire property for four days, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. David, the owner, is truly one of a kind. He is dedicated, kind, and incredibly hardworking. He anticipated every need—ours and our guests'—before we even had to ask. It’s rare to find someone so genuinely invested in making every moment perfect, and his passion shines through in everything he does. His staff are equally amazing: warm, professional, and a clear reflection of David’s high standards and personal touch. The pool and surrounding area are a true oasis—peaceful, private, and the perfect place to relax. And then there’s the food… wow. Every meal was a masterpiece, with flavors, quality, and presentation that rival the best restaurants in Italy. And their wine? Incredible. Every bottle was fantastic, but their Prosecco deserves a special mention—it may very well be the best in Italy! If you’re considering this venue for your wedding, don’t hesitate—just call David and book it. You will not find a more beautiful, well-run, or welcoming place to celebrate such a meaningful moment. And if you're just looking for a luxurious and peaceful getaway filled with amazing food and wine, this is the spot. There’s not a single bad room on the property (we saw them all!), and you're only a short drive from charming Cortona—a must-visit while you're here. David and his team helped create memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We left with full hearts and already can't...

There are not enough words to describe how much we loved our stay this past May, but I’ll try to highlight a few!

The ambiance of this entire villa is stunning! It’s a converted farm and it has every Tuscan charm you can’t think of. We stayed in the coach house - it was cozy, comfortable and so romantic. Bed was comfortable and just enough space for 2.

The food - the breakfast was wonderful and every pastry was delicious. Loved the meats and cheese offerings. We ate every morning on the terrace by the pool, which was so charming. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner a few times - it rivals Michelin star restaurant experiences we’ve had! Carefully curated - it was a lovely experience. Warning, if you order the steak, make sure you come with an appetite - it’s incredibly generous in size.

The wine. The owner of the villa MAKES THE WINE AND IT’S INCREDIBLE. We travelled all over Italy and his wine was the only wine we brought back to Canada. On top of that, he commissioned an artist to create the labels - each style of wine with its own unique painting. Each painting is of a different family member on their respective horses. These little details showcase the care they have for their patrons experience!

The service - I can’t express how well cared for we were during our stay. When we arrived, we immediately went to the pool and the owner personally delivered us some wine. You can just tell how much pride he takes in this villa and it definitely set the tone for our experience.

This would be the PERFECT place for a wedding - the grounds are stunning and beautifully maintained. The rooms are beautiful. The service is amazing. If I could plan my wedding again - I would definitely book it here.

There is so much more to say, but we cannot wait to come back again! This was the highlight of our...

This is a special place. The several buildings are very harmonious, placed well on the large property, and constructed mostly of beautiful warm stone. The grounds are well landscaped and lovingly cared for. The restaurant has a small but elegant menu with several fine choices and fine wines. Meals are very well prepared and served professionally by the staff. Breakfast was plentiful with varied and healthy choices. In this summer season, meals are served on the large paved patios surrounding the inviting pool. The rooms are very well cared for and service from check in to check out is welcoming and, again, professional. We stayed in a cottage. The location is close to Cortona and some smaller nearby towns, and we drove to Assissi, Spello, Perugia, and Montepulciano over country roads between gorgeous fertile farmland. There is a large private off road parking area. The AC worked well during this very hot season. WiFi was spotty in the cottage but strong elsewhere. The bed, linens, decor and bathroom were very comfortable and spacious. Manager David is energetic and strives to fulfill all requests.

We attended a wedding in Cortona, and although we have been to Italy many times, it was our first time in Tuscany. From the moment we entered the discreet drive and met the staff, we were at home. The setting, fragrant rosemary, olive trees and quiet elegance of the stonework and furnishings, it was as if we passed through the clouds to someplace called perfection. I loved the antique phone to call the front desk and ask for anything, they will accommodate. Its about the people. David was the most charming host, everyone was genuine and if I could move there tomorrow as a guest who never leaves, I would. Alas! Our lives do not permit, but when I return to Tuscany, the only place I will stay is Relais La Corte Dei Papi. If the Gods are willing to bless me twice, thrice and so on....
