I recently made this booking for my parents, and based on their three-day stay at Hotel Pranos, this was their feedback:
Positives: The view was the only thing that was positive about this hotel. I also must commend the kind attentiveness and professionalism of M. Francesca, who helped organize a thoughtful anniversary surprise for my parents.
Negatives: Unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh the positives. Despite being a new establishment, the amenities were shockingly low quality, akin to a budget motel. The bath towels and linens went unchanged throughout my parents' three-day stay, and the tiny bar of soap provided for both hand washing and showering was never replenished. The shower was uncomfortably small, and the towels were simply hung instead of being replaced. Breakfast left much to be desired, with leftovers like "fresh melon" served on consecutive days, leading to a lack of truly fresh fruit. The swimming pool was disappointingly small, reminiscent of a car's dimensions. Moreover, the manager of the hotel appeared to be consistently in a foul mood and expressed anger when my parents showed kindness to a local stray cat by offering it food. To make matters worse, the photos posted by this hotel are all deceptive. The actual experience and amenities do not live up to the photos, creating a misleading impression that ultimately left us deeply disappointed. Regrettably, I, my parents, and our friends have no intention of returning to this...
Read moreMyself and my husband visited here on a much needed get away from family life back home. I was apprehensive about the accommodation as it’s always a bit of a lottery but couldn’t believe how lucky we were with this find in Cala Gonone. It has to be the best acc and not for luxury but for its beautiful simplicity, attention to detail and quiet. The setting is gorgeous, there are only 6 rooms I think but they are modern, kitted out with all you need, comfy and clean. They say the rooms are cleaned every 3 days and you can pay to have them cleaned more frequently if you want to but 3 days is fair enough in my view, every day is generally probably unnecessary. |The breakfast is traditional with local ingredients and really tasty. Local cheeses, meats and breads, fresh tomatoes and fruit, whole walnuts etc, super coffee. The owner is a lovely gentleman who is on site every day and very helpful. All the staff are lovely and seem to enjoy working there. They gave us some great recommendations and were accommodating with a very late check in after our flight was delayed. |You can do your own washing on site which was really helpful, 5 euro a load.|It seems the poor review below is looking for contrived generic chain hotel amenities which this accommodation hasn’t and for very good reason. We can’t wait to...
Read moreA simply fantastic stay at Hotel Pranos. The hotel offers serenity whilst boasting a brilliant view of Cala Gonone. The hotel is so peaceful and is perfect for travellers aiming to have a relaxing, undisturbed break. The pool was a particular highlight. We loved having breakfast outside overlooking the view.||The rooms are clean, air-conditioned, and the beds were comfortable. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. We had our sheets and towels changed every 3 days, which worked well for our 10 stay. ||We recommend ordering a packed lunch for beach and excursion days - we did this the evening before needing it for the following day. It is made to order and the staff offer a cool box to keep the packed lunch cool. They also kindly lent us an umbrella for the beach, which was a lifesaver.||Anyone considering a stay here should be aware that a car is needed for this hotel. Walking to and from the town wouldn't be practical, and there are bizarrely no short-haul taxi services in Cala Gonone (those that do long haul to the airport etc. quoted us 60 euros, which we were not willing to pay!). ||However, providing you do have a car, the drive is only 5 minutes into the centre of Cala Gonone. ||We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to...
