We booked via 'Voyage Prive' and by the time it had all gone through I'd finally read something about it being 1hour 45mins from airport - gutted and tried to cancel immediately, but travel company were no help. Hired a car from Rome and was very easy to drive to on the motorway. Not quite so easy once we got to the picturesque village however and even though the resort was sign posted we were incapable of finding it - my advice is to just keep driving straight- eventhough it looks like a dead end and you can't go no further just outside of Fabro, you can!||||So 9.30pm arrival - pitch black - nowhere on the resort open for dinner/drinks. 5 minute drive to Fabro - nowhere open to eat (only 2 bars not in walking distance of resort). ||Drove another 10 minutes down to where we left the motorway and came across a very traditional Italian hotel/restaurant. Jam packed with locals, couldn't read the menu and nor could they speak English but we enjoyed our Spag Bol (Ragu) but no wine - as had to drive!||||Unfortunately after a bad nights sleep we decided the location was too remote. I was looking forward to the bike ride and horse riding however if on a Friday night nothing was going on after 9.30 anywhere near - we knew we'd get bored for the duration of the stay. So we checked out the next morning and drove back to Rome.||||Very helpful staff, and I was well impressed with the apartments - unfortunately the bedrooms of each are next to one another with next door and the occupiers did wake me as the sound proof isn't very good. The shower head was broke and squirting all over the place and the tray was blocked and overflowing. Shame really plus no loo roll present.||||I assume this is somewhere people cook for themselves as there was a tucked away kitchenette, and I presume they use their balcony's for evening entertainment - we wanted a bar...
Read moreBooked three of the ‘self catering’ apartments to attend a friends wedding. Upon arrival the first thing that we noticed was cat hairs all over the apartment floors, after being inside the rooms for not even five minutes the electricity had tripped at least fours times. This continued every few minutes throughout the stay, this included during showers when the water would go from freezing to scolding whenever the power would trip. ||||Once we had checked the apartments over we noticed that two of the ovens weren’t working and the third apartment didn’t have an oven at all. None of them had kettles, toasters and one was without any cutlery at all. ||||We approached the staff to voice these grievances explaining that what we were given was by no means self catering but an empty room only. The director was incredibly defensive and rude shouting at us in the reception insinuating that we might have stolen cutlery on our first day and that kettles and toasters were not included. ||||Only after we showed her that they had clearly advertised all of these items online did she attempt to offer us £10 off per night for a 116£ per night stay.|||| With us already having spent 200£ on food shopping for the trip which was wasted as we could not cook, We told her this was not acceptable as a standard room cost £70 and was what we got at which point she threatened to withhold our passports if we didn’t pay the entire amount. ||||All in all it was a terribly disappointing experience which we are all glad to be over with. Would definatly not recommend anyone try this place as it was nothing like the experience that they have...
Read moreWe spent there 2 wonderful weeks. This is perfect place to rest, relax, gain new energy and connect to the nature. We had a very difficult last couples of month and for us taking a summer break was essential for our overall well-being. Spending time at Umbria Resort Spa was everything we had hoped for.
This charming resort is located in magical and peaceful surrounding of the nature only 5 km from the centre of Fabro. It has 2 outdoor swimming pools, wellness area, outdoor gym and kid’s playground. There is an on-site restaurant, free private parking and free WiFi. Breakfasts were very tasty, a large selection of products you could eat (yoghurts, cereals, bread, fruit and cakes) plus juices, milk, tea and coffee.
We would like to thank to Maricela, Maddalena, Roberta, Cristiana and Claudia for their professionalism, welcoming and friendly approach. Thank you for all talks, laughs, shared experiences. All of you made our staying very special and unforgettable. We felt at home and very welcome.
We would also like to thank Mrs. Silvia for excellent dinners. Her cooking was exquisite, diverse, very fresh, homemade … simply delicious. We had 4 courses: antipas, pasta, meat with vegetables and homemade dessert. Every day for 2 weeks we had a chance to taste various dishes.
Thank you and see you next...
