Villa Cagnola — Hotel in Gazzada Schianno

I had room #214 and it had an amazing view of the church and the town. Every morning I would open the shutters and direct sunlight would shine through from the beautiful morning sunrise. The church bells would ring on every hour which was absolutely lovely. The staff at Villa Cagnola were amazing, providing us with everything that we needed during our stay. Our group were parents of Team Ohio from Columbus, OH there for an international basketball tournament. We stayed 6 days at the Villa Cagnola. We had breakfast & dinner there every night and everything was edible and very good. The gardens and view from the back of the hotel was amazing! At the back of the hotel you could see the Italian & Swiss Alps! Awesome!! I only have two small issues with the room. I had a single which included a small twin sized bed and it was was pretty hard. Also, the walls are very thin as I could hear the guest in the next room snoring quite a bit and toilets flushing/water draining. However, neither of those issues would stop me from returning to this hotel next year if my son was invited to play again. It was the most at home and relaxed I'd ever been in a hotel outside of the U.S. Villa Cagnola gets two thumbs up from me. I can't wait to...

In Agosto 2023, abbiamo prenotato 1 notte, durante un nostro viaggio di lavoro in Europa e una ulteriore notte al ritorno. Hotel piacevole, bella posizione, parco molto bello, il servizio bar del secondo pernottamento è stato molto piacevole, direi perfetto. Purtroppo un semplice problema ha guastato questa recensione che poteva essere assolutamente positiva. Al ritorno, abbiamo spiegato che avevamo un volo di ritorno in Vietnam per la mia Vice direttrice, chiedendo di fare un check-out alle ore 12 come in tutti gli Hotel che utilizziamo nel mondo, compresa. l'Italia. Ci è stato rifiutato. Siamo stati costretti a pagare 30 € extra per rimanere 2 ore in più. Consideriamo questo fatto, negativo, assolutamente inusuale, mai verificatosi precedentemente, anche se il personale ci ha confermato che era accaduto a loro molte volte. Detto francamente, abbiamo una società in Italia da 48 anni, 1 società in Vietnam da 32 anni e una in Cina da 28. Quindi come potete immaginare viaggiamo molto, non solo in questi paesi. Siamo produttori e distributori in tutta Europa di prodotti ittici congelati, garantiamo di aver pernottato in centinaia di Hotel, è la prima volta che ci viene richiesto un pagamento simile per 2 ore di permanenza. Normalmente ci viene concesso, sempre gentilmente, di rimanere sino anche alle 13,00 - 14,00 in moltissime strutture. Inoltre la struttura è un lascito alla Chiesa, quindi a maggior ragione dovrebbe essere necessaria una maggiore attenzione, da parte dei "cattolici", ai casi di esigenze particolari, senza pretendere sempre un profitto extra spropositato. Pleasant hotel, beautiful location, very nice park, the bar service on the second night was very pleasant, I would say perfect. Unfortunately a simple problem spoiled this review which could have been absolutely positive. Upon returning, we explained that we had a return flight to Vietnam for my Deputy Director, asking for a check-out at 12.00 as usual in all the hotels we use in the world, including. Italy. We have been refused. We were forced to pay 30€ extra to stay 2 hours longer. Let's consider this fact, negative, absolutely unusual, never occurred before, even if the staff confirmed to us that it had happened to them many times. Frankly speaking, we have had a company in Italy for 48 years, 1 company in Vietnam for 32 years and one in China for 28. So as you can imagine we travel a lot, not only in these countries. We are producers and distributors of frozen fish products throughout Europe, we guarantee that we have stayed overnight in hundreds of hotels, it is the first time that such a payment has been requested for a 2-hour stay. Normally we are allowed, always kindly, to stay up to 13.00 - 14.00 in many structures. Furthermore, the structure is a legacy to the Church, so it is all the more reason that greater attention should be needed by "Catholics" to cases of particular needs, without always expecting a disproportionate extra profit. We spent 1 night (Sunday) in villa Cagnola and it was somehow disappointing- the rooms are clean, but nothing beautiful or romantic, they are in the new addition to the villa itself, so rather dark and with no view. The park and the view on the views from the terrace are very beautiful and picturesque. The restaurant was closed, but the bar open, so we ordered lasagna - biggest rip off I have ever seen! The piece was like 5x5 cm, frozen inside and costs 14 EUR. Otherwise the breakfast was quite ok. The staff was also nice enough, we thought had an impression that all people working there would love to run away from the place - they looked tired and frustrated.
